  1. Anyone got the part numbers for the D2 '03 headlights and finishers(the panel below the light itself)? TIA /tony
  2. Yes, you're right, But lowlife SOB's would the encounter one or more of the following(less dangerous first): 1. Our 11 kg Maine Coon 2. Our video surveillance system 3. My dog 4. My wife's dog 5. My USP expert 6. My wife's 686 .357 7. My wife If they survive that, nothing can stop them anyway. /tony
  3. As stated in the subject. I have some wolf rims, that I'd like to use for winter tires. But will they fit my D2? /tony
  4. No problems with road taxes around here, they are through the roof as always. A D2 Td5(without rear seats) costs abt. £900 a year if you use it for personal transportation. If you register it in a company, it's about £400/year. /tony
  5. Yup, I read it already. Thought there might be more suggestions though. Thanks
  6. Hi guys, I've had quite a few LR's, but now I'm looking at a 1999 D2 with the Td5 engine. It's done 176000 kms(abt. 120000 miles). What should I look for, and where? Where's the ECU placed in that car btw? Thanks, /tony
  7. If you ever get to DK, and you are being pulled over by troops, you'd better stop. Under most circumstances it's just an excercise, but in rare cases it's a real assignment (guarding a stranded HELO or other stuff like that). In the latter case, you will be stopped by force if you don't comply. There's no distinguishing between military and civvy areas when it comes to exercises, so you may meet troops everywhere. We never have any problems with that though. Vikings don't get scared that easily /tony
  8. Thanks guys. Won't tell the mrs. about the cigs though.. the price is probably the only thing keeping her from being mistaken for a beekeeper.. /tony
  9. Hmm.. might wanna bring a trailer and a few dozen jerrycans then It is now 11,30 DKK a litre here, abt. £1.30 /tony
  10. Well, I live in Denmark, but there might be some work for me to do in Gibraltar. But what's the easiest(and cheapest) way to get there? I can easily fly from Denmark to London, but from there I can only find very expensive flights. Any suggestion? Thanks, /tony
  11. Hello everyone, In Denmark we have something called faerdselsstyrelsen, who makes the approvals of the vehicles driving on the roads here in DK. Unfortunately they are a bit conservative and to say the least restrictive when it comes to rebouilding or changing vehicles. So my question is: Is the Dakar or Ibex or other similar cars approved by your MOT? and how? Thanks, /tony
  12. If the vehicle just sits low all the time, your springs are too soft. The self-leveling unit only works when the car is driving, When parked, unladen, it should sit at the same height as the front. /tony
  13. Politically correct? Hmm.. Ever seen obsession? (http://www.obsessionthemovie.com) A quote from the film: We are drowning in our own political correctness.. And from Klutae's "we are sinners": Our greatest enemy is our own inaction. So forget all about correctness here, it's a matter of who's the strongest. /tony
  14. Nah, it's too thin. But you could double(run 2 cables in parrallel) it though, that would give you a total of 70mm2 Check my calc in this thread. /tony
  15. Ah yes, and the voltage drop is pretty bad. Since the power(in Watts)is calculated as UxI (voltage times amperage), the difference in power for Les' example would be: 70mm2 @ 0,68Mv-A-M / 450 Amp / 4m Cable = 1,22 Volts drop = 10,78 Volts times 450 Amps = 4,851 kilowatts = 6.6 HP 35mm2 @ 1,35Mv-A-M / 450 Amp / 4m Cable run = 2,43 volts drop = 9,67 Volts times 450 Amps = 4,306 kilowatts = 5.8 HP Which means that you effectively lose almost 1 HP from your winch motor. /tony
  16. Hmm.. why don't we just get a bunch of these to patrol the route: That'll teach'em ! /tony
  17. Might be that you pads are coated with at thick layer of paint, thereby reducing the space for the plates. How long ago did you try? There might be space for the plates after a couple of houndred km's I had the same problem on my 110" and I solved it by removing the pads, cleaning everything up, adding copper grease to the area where the piston touches the pad, and placing the spiral springs between the pads that someone had never fitted(!). Just a little squeal from time to time now.. Earlier it sounded like a large freight-train whenever I just touched the brake pedal. /tony edit: In need of a spelling-plate..
  18. I added some jackable sills bought from paddocks to our 110" STW, they seem quite strong, and will probably help a bit. At least they are better than just the alloy panels. /tony
  19. Og denne: http://www.landrover.ee/est/varia/downloads/engine.htm
  20. http://www.landrover.ee/est/varia/downloads/catalogue.htm HTH /tony -now with a much better back
  21. Hmm.. come to think of it, It might foul my steering guard plate, which I'm not interested in removing or replacing, so I think I'll have to pass on this one, western. But thanks a lot anyway, and thanks Tony for the pic. /tony
  22. Ok. I guess I'll have to wait then Thanks guys, /tony
