  1. Well after a few months of driving in silance I have gotten very bored of this so decided its time to retro fit a radio of some description. Now my 90 is as povo spec as they come really so how do I go about doing this?? Is there alot of wiring to do this? Aslo where have people mounted their speakers etc??   2. one other thought is if I use a disco 200 rear axle, dont they have 24 slpine hubs? as atm my 90 is on 10 spline one's atm...will this make a difference?? also is the diff ratio the same? or is it a case of swapping front and rear axle to keep a matching pair?? sammy

Right after a few times the hand brakes has stuck on momentarily then freed off, now it doesn't seem to work at all now This is the drum type on a 90 btw, I have heard people mentioning upgrading to a disc hand brake, is it worth upgrading to one of these?? an what parts will i need? Also having issues with the rear hub seals on my back hubs have gone an have now soaked all the shoes etc etc, is it worth up grading to a disco rear axle?? before I shell out on new shoes fitting kit etc etc Pro's and cons please peoples! (honest opinions too) Sammy
  6. also check the seals on the sender unit and pump seals as mine were leaking like a bastid
  7. I have a 90 and it has recently been weeping oil from the rear diff casing, Ive heard this is a common issue with them rotting through. I have thought about repairing this but the repair is £50 off ebay and a bit more than I want to pay...I have heard people talking about Salibury axles...Whats the crack with these? What differences are they to normal axles? Sam

  9. cool was the shafts i was concerned about tbh, the re-welding of engine mounts isnt a huge issue either, just box/shafts and general PITA issues and glitches i was dreading!
  10. hmm right ok..bollox to the spending big money idea. If i get a defender 380 will it fit on the original mounts?? (LT77 box) and then ill just fit a 300tdi and move the motor mounts forward?? Also will my shafts fit stright on to the 380??
  11. is it not a stumpy 380 in a defender 300 tdi already?? or is the stumpy an aftermarket jobbie??
  12. since i bought my 90 the box has been a bit whiney but since towing a car trailer a few times the whine has gotten worse,:/ If its the gearbox thats ****ed what would be the better to go for? is the r380 useable with a 200?? (i would use a defender box) or will it just mate up to a 300?? also if i use a 380 box will the shaft off my lt77 fit?? Also got a harsh vibration when I let of the throttle too which is annoying me head is a boggled with questions!! Any help is really apreciated Sam

  14. I will be replacing all of the bushes on the 90 gradually so was thinking of buying a kit as it will most probs be cheaper...what have people used?? I have heard people saying the poly bushes crack...is this as they are using to hard a compound??? Any links would be ace Samo
  15. Im stuck between converting my 90 2.5TD into either a 200 or 300tdi.. What are the pro's and cons of either engines? Is the 300tdi a harder conversion to do in comparison to the 200?? Will my lt77 fit onto a 300tdi motor? Any help would be greatly appreciated as my head is baffled with it lol Sam
  16. Steer clear of EBC they had notorious problems with the friction material breaking up and crumbling away

  18. Right, sorry for all the threads lately but I'm relatively new to the LR scene and know not so much on them... Here we go, how do identify the gearbox on my 90 (2.5 TD)?? as it is dripping oil from every where.. Also are the defender and discovery gearboxes for 200 tdi's the same as there is one in a local breakers and if I use a disco gearbox is everything a straight swap over?? Also Ive read that there are 2 different transfer box final drive ratio's, how do I determine which one is which? as id want the one the one that is lowest (slightly better top speed) which is the 1.2 one?? Another small one is my back axle has a weep that looks like is coming straight out the casing, not the usual places like the bungs/breathers or diff plate...anyone else had this sort of issue where the diff housing has rotted away?

  20. What have people changed there's to? I mean the standard wheel is the same size as a planet lol also where have you's got the boss from also?
