Got new wiper wheel boxes and new spiral drive fitted, however the spiral drive itself is miles too long. Given that that im not in a position to power the wiper motor up yet, is there any way i can tell how much i need to cut off the end of the spiral drive? Would it be safe to lop 6 or 7 inches off the end?

Ok Nige. Will i have enough shielded VR cable from your kit left over to do the SAW/PIP wires with that?

Am i correct in thinking that it is not essential for the PIP and SAW wires to be shielded? Phil

Im in the middle of wiring up my MS. I have heard that i can use MS to control my cooling fans and was wondering what i need to do (what additional wires go where etc) in order to do this? Im at the stage where any additional wires ideally need to be run now.. Thanks in advance Phil

Sounds like they are quite robust. I might risk fitting it then and testing with MS when the time comes. Cheers guys

Working on the TPS wiring today. The TPS itself looks really crappy. Looks as though its maybe even sustained a little knock at some time. This got me thinking: just how reliable are these? Would it be worth changing now? Id rather not if i dont have to as they arent exactly chip-money.....

No worries Ralph. I think i may have found it... LR Series list NRC9169 as "Servo To Pedal Box Seal" though it doesnt show a picture. Ive taken a punt and ordered one anyway as i cant imagine what else that could be...

Nige is it possible that someone retro-fitted hotwire injectors/plenum etc onto this manifold? The reason i ask is that i bought all the stuff as a unit off a 3.9 disco,,,, I think you have pics of my plenum/injectors etc from previous posts. Also, as you can see my injectors have a green band which i thought confirmed they were hotwire type?

My inlet manifold is like the one ive attached a picture of. It has got 2 threaded holes in it. According to the parts book 14 is "thermotime switch" and 15 is "Temperature Sensor" The Coolant Temp Sensor from Nige's kit fits into the thermotime switch hole as the other hole is too small. Im confused as id have thought that it would have went into the hole for Temperature Sensor? What should i do with the other hole, just blank it off?

New brake servo arrived this morning - happy Phil! Rubber seal that goes between servo and pedal box missing - sad Phil! I threw the old original one out as it was a bit perished thinking a new one would come with servo.....WRONG! Looking at parts catalogue i cant find it. Does anyone know the part number for this?

Ahhh rocker cover breathers. Thanks for that! I will turn the plenum base round. That way i can connect the rocker cover breathers, and the brake servo connector will be on the correct side for the brake servo.

So what about the single one on the other side? Im guessing i can blank it off as well? Would i be correct in thinking i only need the brake servo connection?

There are 3 outlets on my base which appear to be for hoses of varying sizes. I understand the largest will prob be for brake servo vacuum? What are the other 2 for? Do i even need them? While im at it, is there anything i should overhaul/check on the plenum itself before refitting?

Scratch that last question. I think it will connect to my v8 plenum somewhere...

Oh bugger. Wish id logged back on here first thing this morning as ive already ordered it Ralph On a slight aside, where does the hose coming off it connect to?
