Went to fit the front brake servo and a bit fell out the middle. Ive attached a few pics showing what fell out of where.
My question is, is it fubar'd or can i rebuild it?
Just been having a quick look at how im going to wire my Bosch alternator up.
Looking at RAVE it shows a Brown wire going to starter motor. It also shows a Brown/Yellow going to instrument pack and a Green/Yellow going to a header.
I have attached a pic (sorry for the rubbish quality) showing what i actually have at the back of my alternator. You can see that on the 2-pin plug, only 1 pin is utilised? On the alternator there is a B+ which i presume is the Brown to starter? There is also a W and D+. The W appears to be used but the D+ is not.
Im not sure what the W and D+ are for. Im making a guess that W is the dash warning light and D+ is for a tacho signal?
Im looking to refit the lower dash, along with the new heater cable that goes into it.
Seeing as i didnt have the original to take out im not sure how the cable is supposed to be routed. The parts book doesnt give a clear representation of it.
The pics below show the cable.
Should it go like this?
Or like this?
Is there any way to tell if foam is closed or open cell?
I have a large roll of self adhesive foam strip in the workshop that i would like to use for seals etc but obviously i would prefer it to be closed cell so it doesnt hold moisture (for obvious reasons).
Is there any way to tell which is which?
Like you Steve, mine just had nuts/bolts going through the 3 different assemblies.
However page 759 of parts book shows bolts (10) going through seatbox from the front, while page 763 shows bolts (44) going through sill uprights from the back.
This seems to suggest that they are both independant of each other, or is it just an error in the parts book?
Just to clarify. The sill channel that is 37" is the cannel that joins bulkhead to tub. The seatbox sits on top of it. Rocksliders will need to be longer than that...
The actual sill channel is exactly 37". I know as ive got mine in front of me right now...
As for the flimsy ally strips, ive no idea as ive got rock sliders in place of mine.
Would also be interesting to find out if they are UK spec or US spec.
In other words do they 'press down for on' or 'press up for on'...
Every carling supplier that ive come across apart from Croytec, in this country, seem unable to supply UK spec switches...
Can the seatbox be removed independantly of the sill uprights, or do the uprights need to be unsecured from the tub at the same time?
My setup had nuts/bolts going through the whole lot (seatbox / sill uprights / tub) which i dont think is correct.
Can someone please confirm?
As title. Just wondering if folks could post up some pics of the sill channel/seatbox interface on a 90 or 110 HT.
Something on mine isnt quite right, and looking at the parts book (page 765) it shows 4 lokut nuts. Im confused by this because surely if there is lokut's there you wont be able to put seatbox bolts through there.
I tried to attach a pic showing what i mean, but i get a message saying im not permitted to attach file type.. Though i guess most on here will know the area im talking about anyway
