i remember reading somewhere that you could make a gear oil pump out of a heavy duty garden sprayer [it was probably on here] i was somewhat sceptical given the viscosity of the oil but faced with the tasks of 2 drained diffs and front hubs i decided to give a go superb is the word no more smelling of cats wee. just one of those near on 2 gallon sprayers cut the nozel off and away yougo .ithink the missis will have the hump when she goes to spray her roses .

cheers jim they do fit had to cpace out brackets 4mm i also found on mine the half shafts were 8 mm short in the diff so i machined 8mm off the face of the hubs prob solved now got the diff out waiting for my locker and the pleasure of shimming it up thanks for your help merrick

if you have just chaged belts iwill bet you a bacn roll and tea [collected next meet ] that the pump timing is retarded are we on

last time i saw loads of white smoke from a deisel engine it smelt of fuel and was very white not blueish it was woodruff key on crank breaking up from pully being slightly loose and the timing [pump] being retarted as a result it wasent obviose because the lower timing mark was on the pully good luck merrick

got both axles for nought pence what a result ordered the brackets and think ive got all the hub etc. might go to an an arb as it only cost the brackets and gaskets so far thank for the advice will post the results cheers merrick

when you have the noise carry on accelerating but touch brake pedal with left foot if it stops or changes it tends to indicate to the brakes being the problem then try to shift the wieght of the car to one side by steering a little to the left or right and it might aclue which side it is good luck

i have found a pair of lr axles with coil spring mounts and are complete with radius arms and a frame the rear is a salisbury will they bolt straight on to my rrc bob irun 35s so the loss of diff clearance not to much of a prob will the dif ratios be lower than rrc they are going to be cheap so i must buy them any way what do you reconcheers merrick

is the danfoss switch dumping the air when in the pump and out pipe when it cuts ehpower when the tank is full you should hear a hiss after it turns off other wise the motor will be trying to start a nearly locked pump result fuse blow try bleeding all air out of tank before you start up

machine mart is the same one as mine with different lable

there are some cheap ones out there that all apear to come from the same source with different lables on [rolson etc ] if you look at them they are identical 24 volts 45 to 120 quid i have one as does my mate obtained from macces the trade whare house, i have had mine in daily use for about 18 months verdict bril they havent got the same torque as say de walt [350 quid] and you have to occasionaly crack a nut with a long bar .i use it for every thing a life changing purchase

the building regs/planning regs refer to internal floor measurments if you have grief with your local authority over the area there is nothing stopping you buiding a stud wall with no acces to the smaller area to get under the area limit. its legal and i have done it much to local authorities annoyance good luck merrick

have fitted a swing down wheel carrier on my bob rrc i think i bought it from paddocks it is a series swing away type mounted downward instead of sideways its mounted on a custom 100x50 x4mm box section bumper welded direct to the chassis railsand work well i now have a 35 x12.5 mounted on it no probs although it is little heavy to lift up , it locks in horizontal and vertical positions

had a set of pro stuby spanners for four years as good as snap off if not better

i removed mine stripped the cloth off sent about 2 hours cleaning cloth and old glue off ang re covered it with the cloth they use to cover speaker boxes with got it from macces about 20 quid looks better than original good luckmerrick

i have fitted flexy arch from la super trux to 2 bobtails now 1 a two door truck other 4 door cut arch both rrcs they are rubbery with wire outer former you can make them fit any thing and are indestructable w0orth a look

gave it good testing ay woodlands works a treat but 3 wd is def no good all over the place in it so its 4x4 or 2x2 from now on thank for the help and thaks to the fridge for the hubs merrick

it would be the better optiom to fit lsd orlocker but i did the whole job for under 100 quid the lsd or locker w ould have been 5 times that theres a lot of beer tokens inbetween the two if i was competing i would fit lockers but just for fun i cant justify it and my mates wont keep me in beer when im skint cheers

ive welded it in stead fiting a diff locker on road i will use rwd only with free wheelhubs the welded diff will not affect the steering off road i have a choice 2 3 or 4 wheel drive on hard ground i will probably use 3wd as the steering will not be affected onlooser conditions mud etc 4wd i will probably get abit of under steer i have done it before on a suzuki and had no probs
