    Heater

Not entirly sure what type of heater you are refering to but as quoted by the other member heat needs watts of power which are in laymens terms directly related to your volts and amps getting high amps through a 12v system aint easy hence the large cables on your battery ect. Obviously you dont need anything like the power which starts your vehicle but any form of heating uses lots of power so this should be concidered. If the heater in question is made for the job i suppose it must be ok but when you concider not any cars to date ( i think) have a element type heater(execpt for windows) instead of the normal warm air blower type and the wiring ect in the series is pretty primitive i would think hard about it.
  3. Having just finished restoring my series 111 chassis was wondering weather to paint over the entire chassis with bituman paint .It seamed somone had previously used this or something similar and proved to be very goog only whare it had not been coated did i need to weld and replace sections . i would like to show the old girl once finished so was also wondering if this may be detremental to what the true enthusast may think . It would seam standard bituman paint would do the job so as i can access the entire chassis at the mo it would seam a rather cost effective soloution and would also provide sound deadening too thoughts please much appriciated

  5. being in the building trade i have seen many differint uses of ex foam and i can confirm it holds moisture ,kind of like a sponge really and also causes condensation by its properties of insulation good idea but may cause more problems than cures as already expressed a galv chassis should be dipped therefore covering all parts
  6. dam you got me worried now mine is in the very early stages of restoration at the mo and not much lines up to be honest hoping its like a bridge and all will fit properly once all is in place still frustrated by them after market parts mind fitted the replacement foot wells today not bad but by no means good either

  8. Is it me or do all after market parts need major surgery before the will fit .Just cant understand how wrong the manufacturers can make these parts having just fitted new rear x member 4 out riggers and new front dumb irons i found nothing fitted corectly and all had to be cut bent or bashed get close to what i wanted everyone tells me ah its a land rover what do you expect which is true and the mods do add to the fun of the project but holes which are nearly an inch out come on BRITPART a little more effort please
  9. i have a fair size wooden work shop constructed by concreting 6 6x6 by 10ft posts in the ground then simply bracing them and cladding it made some very heath robinson trusses clad them with corragated sheets bought some very good flexible capping which done the ridge and sides all cost about £500 . regret not putting a row of blocks round the bottom mind you as it would stop vermin chewing there way in a little maybe
