  2. Sorry to hijack this topic but was told this weekend by an (expert) plenty more power can be gained by adjusting this actuator/arm is this true ? if so which way ie make the arm longer or shorter thanks and sorry again
  3. def a rand mine is about 15 years old and still works a treat
  4. cool the main problem is seperating the parts as they have been in place under compresion for a long time mine took a 15 ton press and an oxy torch then it went off like a gun
  5. may i advise you do some research on here first it can be a person I'm not that keen on to get every thing apart it certainly was on mine anyway so a good idea of what to do is a a bonus good luck

  8. question 1 what does everyone mean when they say OT is it like some text speak my kids use question 2 would the manifold and turbo from my 2.5 td defender engine fit mt 200tdi discovery replacement engine to save all the exhust mods some say the block/head is the very similar but im sure its not that simple whilst i am being a dork having read the bigger the intercooler the better could i use 2 standard 200tdi linked together to increase capacity

  12. guess you could use a normal coaix joint like you would on a tv lead perhaps
  13. foxham is very good caters for all levels and top marshals more than willing to pull you out when you get a bit cocky i have to agree about that other site to many people with no concern for others to much speeding across the open fields and alchole being consumed on site which amazed me as after it turned even madder think the owner should address the problems as it could be a good p & p site
  14. if you go more than 2 there is many other issues castor correction ect with my 2 i only had to extend the brake hoses
  15. It was very good althought i do think much of it was staged like most of the challenges they do at least we had a bit of off roading on the box for a change
  16. get yourself a haynes manual if there is not one in the manuals you mentioned most jobs on a landy are pretty self explanatory but the haynes manual gives good tips and you can always refer to it when stuck i have to say everything i have done on mine is fairly straight foward and usually very enjoyable and i aint no mechanic
  17. as mentioned its def not a fail point but as i learned the weekend not enough water from the washer squiters is, one of quite a few they found on mine

The time has come to MOT the defender trouble is she smokes like a chimney on starting not sure exactly why thats covered in many other threads i have studied .Think its mainly due to oil pressure pumpimg back into air filter my question is will this fail the emmisions test as it cleares quite soon after driving and is obviously a different emmision than over fueling or something . Any help gratefully recieved and advice on how to reduce (without fitting the 200tdi in the wifes tack room ) should it fail.
