  1. have to agree why do we have to pay £8 to spend our money on stuff we might need was the same at newbury the other weekend at least with billing there was things to do and watch all weekend .Second hand parts seam to be getting rather expensive these days too is this because of the high pitch fees traders have to pay aswell as us paying for the privilage of purchasing them

  6. have to agree on both counts infinity is very good but all the crisp sound is completly wasted in a land rover mine came with sony and pioneer gear and unless your stationary it might aswell be a gramaphone
  7. put the parts in the dish washer if pos but be prepared for a divorce if found out
  8. still dont know why people are not using flexible exhaust hose its cheep and i recon it does the job
  9. if your renewing stuff or just buying a grinder make sure you buy stuff with lithium ion batteries its so much better and ni cad is slowley being phased out all the traders have what look like brilliant offers on cordless gear but its just them trying to get rid of out dated ni cad stuff
  10. sorry to steel your thread but whilst were on the 200 1nto 90 subject could i ask les weather a flexable exhust pipe would be easier that fabricating one as shown in the very helpfull thread les has put on this site and if there any downsides to using this method

  13. ok so just purhaced a 200 tdi to go in the defender but its from a disco i an not sure if the engine mounts are in the same place i know the exhust needs work so i am looking for any advice or help availiable from people who have done this conversion it was a 2.5 turbo with a lt 77 box any advice gratfully recieved thanks
  14. never been to be honest foxham is ok to just mess around though marshalls are very good they towed me out many atime with no hard feelings which gives you the guts to attempt most things good practice really

  16. ow me too get the land lord involved as previously stated it should have been tested to rent it out and by the explanation you gave it aint unless it was stevie wonder who done it
  17. hello mate i am a qualified sparky with my own company absolutly miles from you so i aint lookin for your work explaining what to do by computer will be hard but as it seams you have a basic grip on how it works give me a call on 07889 031 851 and i can give you some pointers just incase i would guess a electrician would cost you around £500 to do the installation at least then you know your safe yours nick weeden
  18. i now use famous four 4x4 they could not be more helpfull even if its a cheep item like my recent purchase of hub oil seals postage is allways next day and you can see photos of everything on there web site which when you have a mix and match defender like mine is very very usefull think paddocks have got a bit big for there boots now
  19. hello i am in the proces of purchasing a second hand 200tdi its done 140000 miles so before putting it in my land rover was wondering what is worth changing/servicing whilst i have good access to all parts will be changing filters ect and probably the cluch but is it worth changing gaskets,core plugs or anyting else which may fail later on any advice gratefully recived
  20. mine does it to scares the **** out of you dont it have not managed to completley iliminate it but it was worse after i adjusted the play on the steering via the alan stud and nut on top of the steering box strangley it does nees a bit of play to help prevent the wobble as mentioned muddy tyres play a big part in this too
  21. changing the hub oil seals on the defender tomorrow but having had a look today ther stuck fast to the bearing can get them off bit by bit with long none pliers but was wondering if anyone had some better advise from experance there is usually someone here who does any help much appriciated ps there the early ones ta
  22. after buying a trailer from our local dealer who is very helpfull we asked the same question and unfortunatly his reply was i wont sell you any security device as none of them will prevent theft if the person I'm not that keen on want it he has acces to police reports containing all the devices the theving scum have made to steal trailers it seams the best security is tagging or marking so when the police raid places (you know where i mean)there is a chance it will be returned to its rightfull owner probably not what you want to hear but thats the truth i am affraid
  23. think a v8 may shreed an lt77 box unless its alater one
