  1. Looks good Soren You guys dont half turn out some nice trucks and modifications!
  2. No idea on prices but sorry to hear of this Urban Dekay
  3. Dollies are only allowed for towing to a place of refuge/safety.
  4. I actually enjoyed doing my front axle . Only pain was all the cleaning because it was full-o-sh!t.
  5. The X-Eng one can be undone with the side of the pliers on a leatherman type tool EDIT: the green RED winches semi-trayback... is that T1g-Up's old truck?
  6. 24mm sounds about right I'm sure Maverik will confirm!
  7. Get either the proper gaskets or some of the instant gasket stuff for the drive flanges on the front. Might be an idea to get a couple spare Circlips for the front drive shaft/drive flange area (assuming they have these on a late front axle?). They can quite easily go ping and I spent ages looking for one I twanged into the abyss that is a gravel drive! Depending how scabby yours are you might want a set of the rubber end caps?
  8. If you take the whole assembly off at the flange you can't get the halfshaft out. You would surely risk damaging the oil seal in the back of the swivel ball (if the shaft would even come out that way at all?)? and they are bloody heavy!
  9. Are you sure its not just backlash in the LR drive train? Rear is a lot easier than the front... Just a question of taking the cap and/or drive flange (not sure!) off the middle of the hub, and sliding the shaft out. If you do one side at a time and jack it up so the axle is sloped, and replace before putting back down you don't need to drain the axle . Front is more involved... Take the wheels off, brake callipers, Undo the hub nut, and take the hub off. Then its 6(?) bolts to take the Stub axle off. Once this is off the whole CV and halfshaft will slide out HTH
  10. Do you mean the big one on top of the rad? Get a nice bling Aluminium one from X-eng
  11. The snorkel isnt badly done, other than the rope and possibly being a bit too small diameter... however the exhaust what went through their head when putting that on????
  12. Noticed this is in the disco forum and TD5, so might be different to my old 90? The older seal seemed a bit more solid. Used mainly because it was the same as the old one
  13. Longest part was trying to get the nut undone... it really is F-tight!
  14. Well when I did my front pinion seal... I ended up getting the new type (5258) and the older one. Ended up fitting the older one as it was a bit more substantial and was a like-for-like replacement of the old one which had lasted 20+ years
  15. hmmm.... thats a tough one. thinking one, then the other, and back again... Sorry I'm no help!
  16. I have one of them sat on my desk for a rainy day
  17. I wouldn't have thought it would need a new flange . Can't tell for sure without looking at it though, it might have a short mileage... but gritty
  18. Fitted my gwyn Lewis prop yesterda... Lovely bit of kit! And being a wide angle means that its not fussy on orientation to get the prop tool on win win!
  19. Alternator belt? My truck has always squeeled a bit... but yesterday it went mad and squeeled constantly when over about 1500rpm.... Turned out the Alt belt was shagged
  20. Mines an '84 on a B plate.... First Reg. 10/09/1984. I guess as an 84 it would have had the 2.5 N/a diesel or petrol? or if its that early were the 2.25's still going into the 110's?
  21. I took these earlier, shout if you want any more pictures
  22. I'll try and get some tomorrow weather is carp here currently!
  23. Well I dont really have a lot to judge against, as mine was like that when I bought it... Its only noticeably loud when given a bootful.
