  1. I don't know how I would choose between the two... but it might be easier to think which might be easier to sneak into the collection at a later date... I think that points to getting the 101 for now, and then a S1 can appear some time after Wife: "where did that come from?" Jeff: "been here ages" Wife: "no it hasn't" Jeff: "but its only small, doesnt take much space"
  2. IMVHO, the only ones I think that look good are Tangoman's and Chris Abel's one at the time he sold it
  3. Thats what I thought... I've sent a question asking if it will fit the 90. On the Td5 front... is it Ebay that people get their speedos from?
  4. I already have the Td5 warning pannel Which is great. How about a new 'old' speedo, for £20 + £10 postage? EDIT: it looks different... not sure if its a defender speedo? Speedo
  5. Its about time I sorted out my speedo. The current speedo head is shagged. It occasionally decides to work for 10mins if given a large thump. The rest of the time it just sounds like a box of loose plastic bits. So I obviously have two options stick with the old type or go for the Td5 type. For the old type, I've found this one: Ebay. Is the price fair? I can't seem to find any Td5 ones for sale on ebay! Roughly how much would all the bits cost to convert to a Td5 speedo?
  6. The allmakes wheel bearings I saw didnt have any markings on them (didnt buy, I got timken ones instead). Don't know if this is the same for all the Allmakes bearings.
  7. the 14th is Broxhead I think. So I guess the laning is the 21st
  8. I will have a 101 one day lovely beasts, as are the IIa/b forward controls Something not right with that 6x6... early 110 built into an FC?
  9. Mine isnt. I read somewhere that the aero catches dont like mud/dirt/grit etc
  10. I've got an X-Jump set from X-eng. very nice quality . If you don't know, they are the type with an Andersen connector, so you just plug the leads in when you need them, Saves getting into the battery box on a defender.
  11. They aren't all like that... that's single main present money (that I can get away with ).
  12. Other great ideas, thanks. I've been walking for yonks so have decent boots/coat/trousers

  16. Well I will have another play when I put the new prop on
  17. I don't think I had the transferbox in neutral... but the main box was. Oh prop tool is a saviour wouldnt be without mine
  18. Rewind a few days, and I'm taking my rear prop off the truck. I have undone a couple of the bolts and want to turn the prop round a bit to get the others undone. So I jack up the NSR wheel and stick an axle stand under the wheel. Difflock out, and hanbrake off (with the three wheels touching the floor chocked on each side). I tried to turn the lifted wheel to move the prop and I couldnt get it to turn very far before it wanted to move the truck? Is this right? I thought I would be able to turn the wheel to turn the prop... Thanks in advance
  19. I know I'm surprising myself... Just bought a load of bits, and then realised its my birthday soon
  20. I will be 20 . Got a rear locker already . Upto ~£200-250 Anyone got anything small and land rover related they wouldnt be without?
  21. Well, for those not in the know (most of you I think!) it is my birthday later in the month... Not really much of a clue what I want for my birthday so I've come for some ideas and inspiration! What should I be asking for? All ideas, sensible and silly accepted!
  22. I think I'm going for a Gwyn Lewis one for my rear prop that needs replacing. I see it as an investment
