  1. Anyone going to the Overland Show at Stratford upon Avon racecourse this weekend 26th/27th Sept??Barry
  2. Brilliant. Thanks muchly( and thanks Les ) I will make time to read it several times over. Barry
  3. Thanks v much. All good stuff. Need to find Les Brocks thread. I should be OK for air because if I need to I can switch to our factory trans-air system which is a 7.5 bar HPC screw comp/fridge drier with 340L receiver tank. Will be painting evenings after all our machines are off. Barry
  4. Havnt tried it for this exact application but Sikaflex EBT may do the trick. They use it on boats. Barry
  5. I appreciate the warning Nick as I already have asthma. Will get the mask for the job. Thanks Barry
  6. Great advice everybody. Thanks. My truck is a 90 in Caledonian Blue, and I can spray the door off the vehicle in a reasonably clean warm factory. What base coatings would you suggest? Team Idris suggests 2 pack is easier than 1 pack. Do I need lacquer top coat for a top finish?--- and approximately what ratio of paint to thinners by volume would work for a beginner? Barry
  7. I would like to get a really good finish as the bodywork on the rest of my truck is very good. The only reason to do the door is the galvanic corrosion is getting worse. Thanks for the heads up on temperature. I can spray the door at work where we run the factory heaters on default 24/7/365. Cheers Barry
  8. I have no real experience of spray painting and will be spraying my rear door when I re-skin/replace it early next year. Take it that I will have a compressor etc... by then and sheet metal for practicing is a given for me ----- Looking for any tips/guidance. As always any help gratefully received. Cheers Barry
  9. I bought an inspection camera from Lidl earlier in the year for £39.99 with a 3 year warranty. Stonkin bit of kit. They have one in Aldi on Sunday 23rd for the same price/warranty and it looks identical. Just keep the receipt in case it does break. St.Aldi and St.Lidl never quibble. I have no attachment to either fine emporium! Barry
  10. Thanks everyone for the input. Its pretty much as I thought. If you run it whilst driving its really good for keeping your sarnies and drinks cool. Number 2 son has been using it everyday while driving a pick up prior to going to Uni. Similarly if you have a mains hook up when camping it does the job. I think I need a rethink before the Overland show. Cheers Barry
  11. I have an Outwell electrical cooler box which has both 12V and 240V plug in power leads. I am going to the Overland Show and camping, arriving Friday afternoon and leaving Sunday morning. I do not have a mains hookup so-------- 1. if I plug it in to the ciggie socket on my TD5 when I set out for my 90 mins journey --- and then I leave it connected ---how long will it last before I have a flat battery, and 2.I have an Aldi cordless/jumpstart/ tyre pump(240V charge). Is there anyway to connect this ( fully charged) to keep the cool box going??? Clutching at straws to be honest but any input gratefully received. Cheers Barry
  12. My alarm problems all started because my battery wasn't fully fit for the job. Worth checking. In the meantime welcome to the forum Cheers Barry
  13. Black/white rugby shirt Royal blue/white fleece both medium. Mug Please Nige Cheers Barry PS Sorry to be a bit thick but as discomikey said how do we paypal you?
  14. IIRC somebody else had a previous issue like this. maybe try some PTFE spray on the seals Rich?
  15. When I bought my 90 it already had Climair ones fitted. If I broke one I would buy some more PDQ Rich
  16. I am trying to order my forum anniversary clothing on my Paypal Account which I havnt used for ages. I have stupidly lost the password. I asked for a new password and it can only be sent by text or message to mobile number I used originally. I also stupidly lost that phone in the middle of a wood in Shropshire and had a new phone from work under a different number, so I cannot retrieve any messages to my old number. I tried to open a new account but Paypal will not accept this as my existing one is linked to my Email and credit card. Can I open another Paypal using a different Email Address and credit card and then order my swag from the forum using my normal login?? Any advice gratefully received. Cheers Barry
  17. Welcome to the forum buddy. Cheers Barry
  18. Not sure if they have access, but as soon as I see a pikey anywhere near my Defender I get twitchy!!!! Keep it safe mate. Cheers Barry
  19. Spiker, welcome to the forum. The 1.8 is really best avoided. As stated Freelanders don't rust badly and the TD4 engine is a BMW lump and takes a lot of abuse. They go off-road much better than you think. Personally I am a Defender guy but hanker after a 2.5 V6 petrol Freebie as a big boys toy. Cheers Barry
  20. I bought the Mudstuff Tunnel tray version. The cupholders are too big for the black plastic travel cups that most of us use so they will not stay upright. I resorted to doubling over one of those neoprene beer tin coolers and pushing it on to the bottom of the travel cup. It works fine but I felt Mudstuff could have included 2 inserts with the kit. Apart from that it gives you a bit of extra storage for pens etc.... Cheers Barry
  21. I need a pair of ramps for my Defender which I run on 265/75/R16 tyres. Any spec/supplier suggestions please. As always thanks in advance for advice. Barry
  22. I think FB should be re-named - Two Faced Book. Cheers Barry
  23. I am a little confused. I had heard it was started by the Norway club, and the suggested date worldwide was Sunday 2 August, to co-incide with the last day of the 25th Billing show. Lots of overseas enthusiasts are apparently heading for the show. Barry
