  1. Would be interested to see what the "Road Books" are like, that sadly is all that I like about that site/Magazine... Being a friendly off road mag is one thing, but trying to be like an Off road "Nuts" or "Zoo" is a bit wierd.... Leave the lad'ish behaviour in the Lads mags Matt
  2. I seem to have a habit of dragging up old threads.... I am doing almost exactly the same thing, but my truck is an 86 90, not a 110. I am trying to figure out which exhaust the 300tdi "should" have, but I don't really have a clue about how to figure this out, I can't use the 90's Chassis Number to search on a parts website as obviously that age truck "should" have a 2.5n/a (or 2.5TD) so they won't list any for the 300tdi, as it wasnt even around in 86. I don't have the chassis number for the Discovery that it came out of but that won't help anyway, as I'm not mounting the engine back into a Discovery . I'm not really even sure on the age of the old Discovery. I believe it was an early type though (only saw it in bare Chassis form). SO, I used to have this Exhaust: (it's on the garage floor in several rusty lumps) Will this exhaust fit?: Regards, Matt2
  3. Well, looking at the two engines out of the truck, they do indeed look the same. Going to take them both off and look at them closer... Just need the engine mounts Cheers Matt2
  4. Hi all, Writing this I almost feel like I should know it, sure I've seen the answer somewhere and I thought it was on here, but the search didn't bring anything up and I can't see it in the Tech Archive... Spent the past hour looking, can already see the first single post being a link to the exact answer I'm in in the middle of removing my old 2.5n/a Diesel out of my 1986 90 and replacing it with a 300tdi out of a Discovery. Upon removing the 2.5n/a looking at the two Flywheels, the "current" 2.5n/a one looks better than the one on the 300tdi, better in terms of wear... Can these two flywheels be swapped, are there any issues in doing so? Like Amount of teeth on the Gear Ring/position of mounting bolts or Clutch locating dowels... Any help would be great, feel sort of stupid asking though Cheers Matt2
  5. That explains things.... Just ignore me in that case . Matt
  6. If it did indeed make your Fuel Pump more powerful as it describes.... Wouldn't that just cause vast amounts of overfueling? Along with the MPG of your vehicle going through the roof... Matt
  7. Hi, Not wishing to sound impatient but have these gone? I think I've sent you my address twice (first go didn't save in my outbox, so that one might have failed). I'll even pay postage if that helps? I haven't seen the Mounts or any word as of yet.... Are the simple enough to just make? Anyone have some sort of technical ish drawing of them? Sorry for dragging up an old thread *agian*. Cheers Matt2
  8. Last time I looked (about a month ago) it was accessible, and I've never been a member of GLASS.... It just doesn't seem to open at all for me, not like an access problem, more of a server problem? I get a HTTP 500 error... "Internal Server Error" with Internet Explorer, Firefox just does nothing... EDIT: Oops, just retried and it works fine, logged in and searched lanes, found a few (random lanes). Can't see any issues? Is it giving you any error's? We are talking about the same thing? http://www.way-finder.co.uk/? HTH Cheers Matt2
  9. Just as a thought, but to my untrained eye it looks as though that pipe has been uncovered on purpose. The Debris around it looks too neat, almost as though it had been dragged away from the pipe? Pity though, I was looking forward to eventually driving that lane... Here's at least one person hoping it stays open. Cheers Matt2
  10. We had ours on Friday, Saturday and lots on Sunday. All gone by Sunday Night though, even though it tried agian at around 6pm Sunday. Was great since I went laning on Sunday Matt2
  11. Sorry to Hijack , But on my 1986 90 my rear passengers wheel gets splatters of oil on it after long journeys (150miles +). I thought it was the Drive Flange seal (or what looks like a seal, where the flange bolts to the Hub), but having looked the other night I can't see where, it looks to have been painted, and I can't see any gaps in the paint... What could be the possible Seal's that might have gone? Is it a common thing, only none of my other wheels do it, it's not a massive amount of oil by the looks, just specs of it. Should have thought on and got pictures of how much . I am thinking of changing the Drive Flanges anyway as I'm chasing transmission slack (could be here for a while). Is it worth going the HD route? Or just replace with genuine parts. Cheers Matt
  12. Brilliant, I now know where to route the piping for my 300tdi install... When it says the 300tdi uses a Pressurised Coolant system, I may be being a bit dim here (normal for me) but isn't 90% of coolant systems pressurised? If not all of them. As in, isn't my current, 2.5n/a Diesel pressurised, can I just swap where the pipes go so it corresponds to the 300tdi, or will it need the correct expansion tank? I have the Brass tank at the moment, with the return from the Radiator at the front top corner of the tank, but the 300tdi has it's return on the base of the tank. Cheers Matt
  13. They look really good, Good job B) Cheers Matt
  14. Also have a look at the Panhard Rod bushes, it ties the Chassis to the Axle in a diagonal direction, in front of the front axle. It's got a slight kink in one end so it misses the Diff pan. Best to get a helper if you can, and while they rock the steering have a look at the bush ends, if they move a lot could be worth getting those replaced. Another good place to check is the Ball joints on the front Tie bar, 2 ball joints, one on the end of the Drop Arm and one behind the Passenger side wheel. PM me if you need pictures as to what I mean, bit hard to explain in text. Cheers Matt
  15. Sorry about digging up an old thread... Just a quick question as to see if those 300tdi Engine Mounts are still knocking about? If so how much would you want for them? Cheers Matt
