  1. No not at all, I promise you that,Its just a gentle reminder to one and all, Im guilty of it myself. Its just the way a topic can turn out, When there are strong opinions topics can go sour quite quick, Already as a result the member above has been offended. It was just a polite reminder, Im no one special just thought it needed to be said. I do hope you dont think it was aimed at you, Your english is to be commended too. I hope the jack gets mounted somewhere appropriate in the end. I might have a come back on this comment but we have to rememember were here to help, And It can so easily turn sour. My own opinion on the jack is its against the law so its to risky, And i would be looking over my shoulder all the time for police, But then again there are things i have done that are bending the rules, I really hope he finds somewhere for it though. Ive done looking at the topic now so i really hope it gets sorted in a friendly manner. kind regards tris
  2. Dont think we need to be forceful with our opinions here I had a little thought, Could a couple of small brackets be welded to the rear cross member to hold the jack, My friends series is like that, Not sure if it would get in the way of towing, I wouldnt have thought so, Theres another option!!!
  3. I was thinking more floral cushions What i meant was boxing it in some way and making it quick release. Im going to shut up a bit now as it just dawned on me what i suggested Im tired from sorting my suspension today and the wifes not fed me so im not thinking straight
  4. Blimey steve, Your a wealth of information!! I wonder if something could be made to cover it and also soften a blow if it did come into contact with some poor pedestrian, Like fitting a cover but packing the cover with something absorbent in an impact, Cant quite say exactly what i mean but its on the tip of my tongue!!
  5. Thanks steve, Thats real useful to me as im not sure what lift i have other than its a lot more than 2inches
  6. Mailorder4x4 is the place, These tyres really fill the arches as they look chunkier than they actualy are, the supplier told me this before i bought them, He was right. they behave very well on the road with not to much noise, wear rate seems good but at less than half the price of bfg who cares!! I dont get stuck with these tyres full stop, I have got 30mm spacers on to so they stick out loveley and miss ruts completeley! I highly recomend them, There bulky, Excellent off road, And very cheap!! if you pm me your mobile number i will send you a close up of my landy with the 265s on
  7. You have to buy longer cable, Welding cable is good, the defender isnt like normal like other 4x4, the winch is only normaly supplied with enough cable to fit a battery under the bonnet, Welding power and earth cable can hold the amps, you can join the welding cable to the winch cable by the isolater switch, I say this assuming you dont have enough cable??? you then power straight onto the battery, some people go on the starter motor for power but i would do it right first time kind regards tris
  8. Thanks for that, Im having a play with the back today, I might try and find some more info on those isolaters you mentioned.I got some dislocation cones on there way lol have you heard off mike recently???
  9. Not only a vibe but i didnt fit dislocation cones either! i found that out the hard way sunday night lol
  10. Porny is a good one to talk to, he runs a tuning shop i think, he told me that theres a lot of room for performance with upping the fuel, intercooler and wind the boost up ( sensibly) he did say the standard actuater rod was to short or something and they fitted another one to pull more boost out, I guess this is cost effective, although the intercooler might sting you a bit. tris
  11. 170mm roughly maybe 180 from inside rubber to inside
  12. Give me 2 minutes! i will get me tape
  13. 200tdi, DOH!! typical lol. ralph said i could fit double yokes but i need two each end, are they the same, so just order 4??
  14. Right ill cost the yolks up and also see if i can raise the back another inch, If its too much cost wise i will get lower springs Thanks for help. Tris
  15. I love being able to lean on the cubby box, Be weird without it, No where to rest your arm!! do you need the extra seat though??
  16. Can i fit wide angle yokes to the standard propshaft steve??? or anybody? ( RALPH!)
  17. I can vouch for that, the noise is well aggressive, And the dead animal that it spits out the exhaust is well impressive
  18. Thanks steve, So i need to combine a double cardon with wide angles yokes. sorry about before steve, caught me on a real bad day...
  19. Whos dave if you can find his number can you drop it in for me please! There at right nasty angles, remember the lift mine had at the front, what did you reckon it was 3 to 4 inches?
  20. Ive used the search engine and found information on how to cure propshaft angles after a lift. The problem is im really confused as to which prop i need?? wide angle? double yoke?? double cardon?? It was only supposed to be a 2inch lift on pro comps and heavy duty springs, The rear is about right, But the front has gone closer to 4inches? If you look at my picture on the post you will see the its quite high (its a bad pic, sorry) Its had time to settle, As a result the front prop is at quite an angle, So could someone enlighten me as to what to buy out of all the ones i mentioned at the start, Money is an issue to an extent. Also whats this business of removing the anti roll bar?? HOPE ALL ARE WELL!!
  21. Cheeky beggar!!! What you tresspassing on here for??? yam yam lol, Good to have you on ere ade...didnt get any response of emails so had to go to devon4x4, Sinse then gone to paddocks to, Got more probs now with propshaft angles etc, When you greenlaning again? and howd you know bout the builders yard???
  22. Hi pete, You are so right about workshop and salvage, A few months ago i phoned the workshop and said i needed an oil filter housing, They said come over and get one from salvage, So i drove all the way over and went to salvage, "you cant have one of these" he said,"We need that housing left on to sell the engine. He told me workshop were wrong to tell me to come over, Fat lot of good that is after i had driven all the way over! Anyway just placed a big order with paddocks, People here say there okay, Mind you a few say there not! I placed the order last night and the only glitch so far is there out of stock on stuff, So heres hoping!! Just one thing. this topics really took off, And i want people to know i never speak ill of any companys, I suppose everybody deserves a chance, And im happy because i know craddocks had exactly 6 chances to give me a reason to commend them, Each time they failed. I know some people have had good service, But there is a majority who seem to find them out of their league in the Land rover market. And passing on this information is important to anyone who finds themselves being let down by them. Political hat off!!
  23. Fuffin eck!! Thats quick, wonder how quick hybridfromhells is?? this topics getting old now but i understand dantd5 more, Since fitting the lift, winch and other stuff i get loads of rubber necking, no animosity though, best one was when i parked outside a builders yard/shop and when i came out people were swarming round it, And mine is nothing special!!
