  7. That should be ok then I should have phrased the above post differently "i'm just deciding if the cable i've run for 12v to the coil is big enough" lol cheers G
  8. Cheers I see the colours on that diagram are red, green and yellow (same as the tps). My ms loom has a blue wire and a grey wire - which are labelled so i'll match them to how you describe above Just another little question - what sort of current draw will the coils have ? Just deciding what size wire to run. What thickness gasket should i use in the plug G
  9. Evening, Just a quick question about my tps on my v8. Looks like this pic : There are 3 wires - yellow, red & green. On my MS loom for the TPS i have - TPS 5v ref and TPS sig. and i'll make an earth. But could someone please tell me what the yellow, red and green wires are ? From the MS diagrams on here, i'm assuming green is the earth. Cheers Gordon
  10. Evening, I'm looking at getting a new impact wrench. I've currently got an older ingersol rand, but would like a newer stronger one. After a 1/2" (i've got a 3/4" and 1" - but they're too heavy for normal use). What would people suggest ? On paper the Ingersol Rand 2135 looks pretty impressive Cheers Gordon
  11. what if you tighten down the head bolts a bit more on a composite gasket, will the CR raise a little ? IBTL
  12. I have just tried to do an online application and got this : Your application could not be completed online. Please use the application you were sent to apply, and send, along with the required documentation (shown above), to MSA for manual processing. Unsure why ? But my nationality is not english. I've got dual nationality from Zimbabwe & Ireland. I hold a zimbabwean drivers license as well as full UK car & bike. I don't have an irish license The online form doesn't actually ask for details about your UK license. Gordon
  13. my 1993 4.2 is like the above but 14 bolts, with a dizzy driven oil pump. i have machined my cam to take the cam retainer. my 1995 4.6 is 10 bolt heads...but the block has 14 holes available. there are a few odd varients around this era.
  14. I've lost a wheel on a car transporter trailer, not a nice experience looking in your mirror to see a wheel rolling down the road G
  15. The air con thermo switch located in the thermostat housing has a standard 22mm x 1.5 thread. I've put a 50091 sender into that (switches on at 88-83/92-87 ). I do however wish to run a cooler engine than you with my radiator in the back and it only being used for offroading. I've got a thermostat in for now which opens at 74c. Here is info about intermotor switches : http://partfinder.smpeurope.com/index.html?p=155&typeid=42&recordset=209&value=42 50100 29 M22 x 1.5 82-68 50101 29 M22 x 1.5 84-79/88-83 50250 29 M22 x 1.5 86-76 50012 29 M22 x 1.5 86-77 50090 29 M22 x 1.5 86-81 50120 29 M22 x 1.5 88-79 50295 29 M22 x 1.5 88-79 50296 29 M22 x 1.5 88-79/110-102 50271 29 M22 x 1.5 88-83 50272 29 M22 x 1.5 88-83 50275 29 M22 x 1.5 88-83 50217 29 M22 x 1.5 88-83/92-87 50091 29 M22 x 1.5 88-83/92-87 50212 29 M22 x 1.5 88-83/92-87 50213 29 M22 x 1.5 88-83/92-87 50216 29 M22 x 1.5 88-83/92-87 50221 29 M22 x 1.5 88-83/92-87 50219 29 M22 x 1.5 88-83/92-97 50240 29 M22 x 1.5 90-80 50110 29 M22 x 1.5 92-82 50111 29 M22 x 1.5 92-82 50112 29 M22 x 1.5 92-82 50113 29 M22 x 1.5 92-82/95-80 50218 29 M22 x 1.5 92-82/97-92 50170 29 M22 x 1.5 92-87 50200 29 M22 x 1.5 92-87 50210 29 M22 x 1.5 92-87 50211 29 M22 x 1.5 92-87 50220 29 M22 x 1.5 92-87 50230 29 M22 x 1.5 92-87 50231 29 M22 x 1.5 92-87 50235 29 M22 x 1.5 92-87 50260 29 M22 x 1.5 92-87 50270 29 M22 x 1.5 92-87 50280 29 M22 x 1.5 92-87 50281 29 M22 x 1.5 92-87 50285 29 M22 x 1.5 92-87 50290 29 M22 x 1.5 92-87 50215 29 M22 x 1.5 92-87/97-92 50011 29 M22 x 1.5 93-88 50102 29 M22 x 1.5 93-88/97-92 50035 29 M22 x 1.5 95-85/102-92 50130 29 M22 x 1.5 95-86 50030 29 M22 x 1.5 95-90 50033 29 M22 x 1.5 95-90 50061 29 M22 x 1.5 95-90 50062 29 M22 x 1.5 95-90 50160 29 M22 x 1.5 95-90 50092 29 M22 x 1.5 95-90/100-95 50174 29 M22 x 1.5 95-90/100-95 50104 29 M22 x 1.5 97-92 50282 29 M22 x 1.5 97-92 50103 29 M22 x 1.5 97-92/101 -96 50214 29 M22 x 1.5 97-92/102-97 50190 29 M22 x 1.5 100-95 50195 29 M22 x 1.5 100-95 50196 29 M22 x 1.5 100-95 50197 29 M22 x 1.5 100-95 50198 29 M22 x 1.5 100-95/110-105 50000 29 M22 x 1.5 103-98 50013 29 M22 x 1.5 103-98 50014 29 M22 x 1.5 103-98 50191 29 M22 x 1.5 120-115 Gordon
  16. this is an impact gun, windy gun, rattle gun, impact wrench etc but you'll need a decent compressor and decent gun to undo it. you can get 12v or 18v versions, but not sure how strong - depends on the make G
  17. this is a setup with an hydraulic brake pump and not a servo with master cylinder. which could be swapped for, but it's a ball ache of a job to do
  18. Think Automotive will be able to supply the above fitting. But when i was doing all my brakes (fiddles etc) David @ Llama made them all up for me Gordon
  19. Just a quick question : During this coming year i'd like to enter the BADLRC, Howlin Wolf and possibly some of the other northern / midlands events if they don't clash... For any of these organisations, is there a need for the co driver to have a license ? Cheers Gordon
  20. Evening, We recently got a range rover which has the hydraulic pump + accumulator setup. It had abs. BUT .... the axles which used to have ABS have been swapped for normal axles without. When the engine is running, it is very easy to lock the brakes. The back brakes lock up, the front aren't too bad. Would this rangey not have a bias valve for the rear ? and because it has no abs (speed sensors) it's causing issues ? Regards Gordon

  22. Cam retaining washer to stop forward movement : Cam machined to take a cam retaining washer : Bling Finding TDC with an extended DTI into cyl 1, the mark on the crank pulley was pretty close amazingly
  23. I've got a mocal take off plate which replaces the oil pump cover. However due to how the pressure relief valve spring plug screws into it (the housing is shorter so to speak), the spring is under more pressure than a standard pump, coupled with the fact that the tadpole makes the prv slightly longer as well i've decided to make an adjustable relief valve. Gordon
  24. Morning, http://www.dcp-shop.co.uk/buy-car-accessories/product_info.php?products_id=21453 My boss at work swears blind that by adding slick 50 to your engine is good. He reckons that it'll help in the event of loosing oil suction and the engine in effect running dry (until you shut down). Have other people used it ? and what are your opinions ? Cheers Gordon
