lol
Haveing some furling issues on a carbed 3.5 v8 have changed the filter in the passenger front wheel arch but with the feed disconnected I get a very very weak dribble of fuel the electronic pump in front of rear passenger wheel arch makes a noise-is there a filter inside this? -is this the only pump? Any help appreciated!
Stellaghost
There may be a filter in the pump. Red spot pumps I've used in the past when running a V8 had a filter where the fuel intake to the pump was probably worth a check also could be a filter in the tank
FridgeFreezer
If it's a facet-style pump mounted on the chassis then yes it's got a filter inside it, you can still get them. It should fairly hose fuel out of an open pipe. Also worth checking it's getting a good voltage, if the wiring is crusty or connectors corroded / badly earthed that won't help. walace58
Odd , I thought the fuel pumps were in the tank, my 94 and earlier Classic were both in the tank?
FridgeFreezer
Some were, some weren't, it's an age thing - OP said his was on the chassis rail so I'm assuming it's original although I suppose someone could've had a knackered in-tank pump and just hung a Facet on the chassis rail for cheapness... if it's sucking through a dead in-tank pump that likely wouldn't help! lol
No you were correct facet type with a filter inside on the chassis leg, however I can only describe the out let pressure as a dribble so new pump on order (internal filter seems clean)
