miketomcat Posted November 7, 2020 Share Posted November 7, 2020 Yes it's to create the required light pattern using the reflector. If it wasn't there you would need a patterned lens. I find crystal lights ok so I would suggest your bulbs are passed there best you'd be surprised how much better a new set are especially if you go to night breakers. Are your lights still on the original wiring? If so consider an upgrade to using relays as this will improve them considerably. If you do a search on the forum you will find a few topics. DaveSIIA Posted November 9, 2020 Share Posted November 9, 2020 Remembered to check mine - Wipac that were installed around 2010; No metal cage around the bulb, but the reflector has a vertical ribbed pattern to focus the beam.
