steve b
Hi , I've just opened a bag that should have contained 1x NRC7387 but this is what came out Any ideas as to what it is for ? Steve
western
Should be like this NRC7387 No idea what that one you have is for, can't see enough of it.
steve b
The odd pentagonal section is in the long part . The other end is as per the correct part spline . I know what it should be , I was just curious to see if anyone recognised it . From Britcar as you can see , but the bag is a repack and the plastic wrap around the part has nothing on . Probably Jag or some such and NOS from a clear out somewhere . I'll sort it out with them . Steve
western
If it was a Jag non LR part then I would expect to see a non LR part number. Should be splined in both ends for a 90 or 110 part.
Bowie69
Looks like it was machined badly.

No this is for the square bar type steering shaft, found in discovery 1's and td5 era defenders onwards. One end isn't splined as it slides on the square bar. https://www.devon4x4.com/qme500031-shaft-steering-367833.html
steve b
I've seen this type of drive shape on something , just can't recall what . The design is part of column/shaft collapse on front impact. Just a repacking error that I'm sure Duncan will sort out . Steve
steve b
Well done Mav. You can see I don't work on much of the newer(!) LR range , haha Steve
