Rustyv8
Hi all, Anyone know what is this plastic cover which is on the lead running to my chassis mounted fuel pump? (3.5 v8) It’s about 14inches long or so… Is it some sort of heat shield or some other function that I need to be aware of? Thanks all! simonr
It doesn't look original. I would guess at it being to stop the wire from chafing against other metal bits. Maybe a previous owner had problems with that & fitted it to solve the problem?
Rustyv8
Actually it is original (albeit new old stock) it was a LR genuine part, part of the bulkhead engine loom which runs to the alternator etc. ….just a weird looking yoke 🤷🏻♂️
Rustyv8
Oops…I stand corrected… just remembered I bought this from Autosparks…….maybe I should ask them!!! 😜
stevebus
Why did you ask if you bought it
FridgeFreezer
My only guess is for abrasion protection, if it was heat protection it wouldn't be made of black plastic (I'd hope!).

In parallel I’ll ask Autosparks
