western
After a timing belt & oil, filters change on my Defender spec 200tdi, I noticed a exhaust gas leak from the wastegate shaft, it's making the left rear of engine bay & underside of bonnet black. Is there a bronze bush or similar bush around the shaft, & can it be repaired or am I looking for a new turbo exhaust side housing??
RedLineMike
i dont think its coming out the wastegate shaft bushing, id suspect its coming from the manifold to head gasket looking at picture
western
I did see exhaust from that area yesterday, but only when looking from right hand side, I can swap the manifold gasket easy enough,
western
I have a replacement gasket coming on Thursday but changing it will have to wait until the following Thursday which is my next day off.

western
Had a decent length drive today, sounds much better like a good 200tdi should & no exhaust fumes coming inside the cab.
