Defender 11L 200Tdi turbo waste gate shaft exhaust gas leak

Recommended Posts

After a timing belt & oil, filters change on my Defender spec 200tdi, I noticed a exhaust gas leak from the wastegate shaft, it's making the left rear of engine bay & underside of bonnet black.

Is there a bronze bush or similar bush around the shaft, & can it be repaired or am I looking for a new turbo exhaust side housing??

I have a replacement gasket coming on Thursday but changing it will have to wait until the following Thursday which is my next day off.

Got the new manifold gasket today, but due to weather & 9n shift for the next 6 days it will have to wait until next Thursday my next day off

i dont think its coming out the wastegate shaft bushing, id suspect its coming from the manifold to head gasket looking at picture 2

I’d say so too.
