Buy a VDO 52 mm tachometer, same as original fit. Croytech or Lowtension [01827 250004] do them for under £50 and very easy to fit. See also this and this and this. Fitting the gauge itself is nice and easy although if you have to move other instruments you'll have to deal with the mess that is Land Rover dash wiring.
