Gromit
Has anyone ever managed to get a rubber hub cap off without damaging it so that it leaks when returned to service? Maybe it's the carp aftermarket ones I'm buying, but they need a reasonable amount of persuasion to get them off, and they're never the same shape afterwards. Ahh oui, l'eau d'EP quatre-vingt-dix
bobtail4x4
If they dont fit properly afterwards, drop it in a cup of boiling water for a few seconds, then let it cool, they seem to fit afterwards.
western
yep, don't pull straight ease them off at a angle with a wide blade lever under the edge. & before refit drown it in very hot water to make it more pliable, it'll just pop on & as it cools will grip harder. Gromit
Dunked the cap in boiling water last night, for about 30 seconds. Thanks guys, that worked a treat, despite the cap being a bit mangled. No more mucky wheel
