Need to get my grubby paws on a couple of these:

Devon have them for £30 a pop. Anyone know of a better (read cheaper :D ) source?

are they real albrights? (which i suspect they are copies) then you wont find cheaper.

personally i wouldn't fit cheap copies.

Thanks JU, for some odd reason not only did they not come up in any Google search I did for "Contactor" or "Isolator" or similar, it didn't even cross my mind to contact them directly!!:ph34r:

Just had a very informative chat with Albright's tech guy.

He has confirmed that this contactor is a 100A continuous thermal current item. This concerned me a bit as my winch draws 375A at full load (in theory!). But as I am an electrikery thicko Mr Albright went on to explain that at 350A the contactor would be fine for about 2 1/2 minutes before needing a break.

Can't see me winching at stall load for 2 1/2 minutes!

He also confirmed Devon's pricing was appropriate so I get to to talk to Liz :D

BTW - Albright will be releasing a 350A jobbie early next year for "a bit more money"......

Don't you just love electric winch ratings

"It wont get too hot as long as you don't use it for too long"

Would make a good electronically operated isolator....

I have a similar setup on my winch with an appropriately rated relay.

^^^^^^^^^^^Wot he said - electrical isolation of the winches without having gert fat cables running into the cab. (Well it is a Range Rover!!)

Albrights already do the winch control itself.
