Bell-Auto-Services
bonus - switching on a dip switch on the ECU or a pair of nominal tails to allow remote fitting would rock PeteDyno sheets - pleasantly refreshing, crack on! Ill try and work it so it will use a switch to GND inside the cab for ease of install, also if the switch or any of its wires failed then it wont damage the ecu or its switching device. The switching device itself will be installed inside the ecu for safe keeping so to speek. Regards pete
Bell-Auto-Services
Is there a forum discount on any of this stuff? Of course There may even be a switching map install as a forum freebe yet , of course they would need to come to me for the work done. See how i get on first. Orange
A complete numpty question for you... Will this be a universal fit between the Defender and Disco (bearing in mind the differences between mounting positions on earlier TDi models)? I've never looked under the bonnet of a TD5 Defender... If it is, then I might have to start working on the wife!! She's gradually coming around to the idea of tuning it....for better MPG, of course Hints of a ball park price would be useful if you've got any ideas?? TIA Adrian

Apart from a few minor differences engines are identical.... so the turbo will fit all models. We are still working on price - this will be confirmed (at least a ball park) ASAP. Bell-Auto-Services
my allispotyed mapped and cooled td5 is now sluggish as hell! :( If it were ok when it was originaly done then you may have a car problem, mapping does not alter but cars do go faulty. It may be worth a phone call to Andrew. What spec is your car ?? Regards pete

What spec is your car ?? Regards pete Hi The Allisport kit Its functioning fine,Andrew did a good job. and it'll leave a lot of defenders standing, but having lived with it for a couple of years I find it sluggish as hell. If I can obtain a significant power gain with your turbo i'd like one. Can you give me an idea of how much this will cost. Also to further complicate the issue, the vehicle is long term based in Bucharest, Romania Cheers James
Bell-Auto-Services
Ahh , now i understand. The price for the kit will be available soon , iwill keep you posted. i would realy need the car here to gain the best from the kit. it is possibile for you to fit but if you wanted the maping it would not be its best if i were only sent the ecu for tuning. it is always the best to have the car for electronic tuning. regards pete
Porny
The price for the kit will be available soon , i will keep you posted. Hopefully very soon... At the moment we are still deciding on the final spec of the turbo, and doing lots of development and test work. Mapping wise... all I can say is that it is very special!! (the BMW owner on the way home the other day was very shocked!! ) This is not some 10 minute hash job - i.e. lets bolt this turbo on - off some other car - wind the boost up, dump loads a fuel in and sell it on!! The conversion will be to a very high standard and will not be avaliable to all testing has been completed (which will be soon). Ian

Bell-Auto-Services
Well after boggeling and frying my brain with electronics and cutting my wrists a few times while doing it, im finaly proud to be the first to produce a switching 2 stage remap working on the TD5 ecu It can be switched while the engine is off or on , it can be switched at any rpm of speed etc etc. I have some more work to do on its security before its for sale on the market but hopefully with a fresh brain tomorrow ill get a step closer to finishing this. Ill keep you all posted on my progress Regards Pete
smo
Oooh, nice one Pete - definitely keep us posted, its gonna be a fight to see who gets the first setup once its all released (providing one doesn't need a stockpile of cash that you could buy an island with to buy it.) The switching remap will probabaly cost less than most other landrover tuners sell a standard remap for Of cousre if you choose to have 2 tuned maps then the cost would go up slightly, but if it map1=STD and map2=Tuned then the cost will be affordable
smo
Sounds good...add that to the new turbo and intercooler though and i might need a small cash injection!

David L
Keep us posted on the Variable Vane Turbo - I expect that will transform the Td5 and will make the Puma owners wonder why they parted with all that cash! (or make us look at how much we spent on ECU re-maps, uprated intercoolers, straight-through exhausts, and now Turbo's ) But what would a Landy be if you couldn't pour cash into it! Keep us posted Pete.

Bell-Auto-Services
The final CAD drawings for the casting and the needed machining are been drawn as we speek , i think final casting/production is going to be around 8-12 weeks yet. We are also working on special actuators for its control for ease of setup and this is taking time also. Regards Pete
