spcollins
Hi folks, I am transplanting a 200TDi from a Disovery into a Defender and am just getting oil cooler pipes made up. Does anyone know what pressure the oil should be when the engine is running as the pipe maker needs to know to spec the pipes. I'd appreciate any help. Thank you! Simon. tjolliffe
Very little pressure mate, all it is is pumping the oil around the engine and into and around the rad. Do you have any old oil cooler pipes? If you do, take one of those into the pipe making place where your getting them done and they should be have a good idea then. Hope that helps
western
the pipes/hoses need to be tested to 3 x normal working pressure. do a search & you'll find photo's & details of my 200Tdi's oil pressure figures.
spcollins
Thanks for the reply, Western. Did a search and spent ages looking for the post you mentioned. I can't find it anywhere. Any chance you know where it is or what I should search for? Thanks! Simon.
Lars L
Without having the "good book" at hand, I seem to remember that it should be 35 to 65 psi. Or 2,5 to 4,5 bar.
