dantd5
I am wondering if anyone has used this tool and eventually any comments on it? Just wondering if I should buy it to help remove the visciuos Fan.... Tired of tips which leads to dead ends......
silvio
I bought them, and they are well done: no problems in removing the viscous fan. Not cheap, either...
dantd5
Cool.. the money is actually not the issue.. it is the functionability of tools that bothers me.. I guess I better get one NOW.... Thanks for the tip S..... Was it easy to get the fan off with them?
rick
viscous fan spanners are pretty common and very cheap here. They are only pressed steel. Not sure on a TD5, but on a Tdi they are a left hand thread and it only takes a 'whack' with the palm of you hand to undo, or a slight blow on the spanner with a hammer. 101sean
Man does not need an excuse to buy tools, get the credit card out now! Must get a set myself. BTW, if you want a laugh, look at the slogans on the Northern Tools website, every one true! http://www.northerntooluk.com/ My fave "A tool is measured by the size of its warning label"
dantd5
The more tools one owns the Better,,,,, independency is the word.. But that does not mean one should lavishly spend on them.... Which would you prefare.... sending the cash to the mechanic? or getting yourself equiped to the teeth.......

They are right threaded on a td5,,, (absolutely sure on this)... well googling gave me just one on TD5s...... sometimes the cheapest way can be costly..... Tdi's have some similarities.. this one is exeptional.... Td5= 36mm tdi i guess are 32mm...... Adversely.. I will not challenge you Old hand...... mike4444244
or you could borrow one, take the viscous fan off, put it in the bin, fit an electric one and give the spanner back and not worry about your fan ever again mike
Godlykepower
BTW, if you want a laugh, look at the slogans on the Northern Tools website, every one true! "Sawdust. As close to Pot Pourri as a man can get." Awesome!
ThreeSheds
I made one of these: which, in combination with a Halfords VC spanner, made it really easy...
nas90
Whats wrong with a hammer and sharp cold chisel? Works everytime for me! Spanners are a real pain to hold and then jolt with a hammer usually skinning your knuckles. Electric fans are rubbish. Viscous rules ok?
