Orgasmic Farmer
A 4,2 SWB Patrol in UK spec "should" have a factory fit rear locker. If I could find one in good nick for under a grand i think I would sell the Disco trayback and start a new project based on the Nissan.... lansalot
@reads90 Two questions: where do you live, and when is the house empty ?
nicks90
finding a patrol for under a grand that is coiled might be a bit of a challenge. If you do, its more than likely a complete shed and worn out. better bet is to find an early good condition patrol on leafs, easy to get them for under 1K nad the one in our club does remarkably well at RTVs and the inline 6 pot petrol is a derivative of the early skyline engine and bullet proof. dirtydiesel
don't touch a 1K G-wagon, it'll be rubbish...i'd look for a Hi-Lux, or an older Nissan Patrol..... What the are you on about? I've cut up plenty of 400 quid g wagons that'd take very little resurcting. A mid 80's 280ge is about the best of the bunch, you should be able to find one worth having within your buget. Is that the case Mercs are fairly resilient at the best of times
clbarclay
I have mixed fealings about G wagons having had one at home for a fair few years. Don't get one with a 300GD unless you plan/budget on changing it. Don't be surprised when the parts are more expensive than you had expected and be prepared to spend a lot of time finding the right combination sockets, spanners, extensuons etc just to undo on some of the nuts. On the plus side the chassis is impressive, pitty some bits like the rear door arn't so well protected. If you do go for one, make sure its all in good working order. MogLite
Still flying the Isuzu flag This is the kind of thing I was thinking about There is a nice build up thead here which culminates in plenty of hardcore tech - building a hybrd front axle
jimfoo
I think whatever you buy, you should save up and put this in it.
