dottythe90
special versions powered the Formula 1 winning Brabham team. I'm racking my brains here to no avail - can anyone remember when Brabham used Rover V8's in an F1 car ? Coventry Climax, Repco, Cosworth, Alfa Romeo, BMW, Yamaha - I can remember, but not Rover STEVE
ROGUE TROOPER
For over 40 years the V8 engine, with displacements from 3.5 to 4.6 litres, has powered British marques including Land Rover Defender, Discovery and Range Rover, Rover P5B, P6 and SD1, MGB GT, Triumph, Morgan and TVR. It is also the standard British engine for all hot rod use and special versions powered the Formula 1 winning Brabham team. In 2005 Engine Technology International magazine and its journalist Keith Read voted it " the greatest engine of all time". Triumph never used the Rover v8.....they have there own 3L OHC V8

dottythe90
Yes the TR8 used the Rover V8 as did Brabham to win the 1967 [??] F1 World Championship. Of course, the Repco engine was built around the Oldsmobile aluminium V8 block.
