mmgemini
I much prefer to use R clips on the pins on my callipers. I did buy a box of R clips at a show but none of them were small enough. So Which vehicle uses R clips to hold the calliper pins in place as I'd like to buy some. Thanks mike
western
got small R clips on my front pads pins, they were on the 110 when I bought it small R clips in this pad retention kit, same as mine STC8575
steve_d
Take a sample pin or clip into your local motor factors who will have caliper service kits on a rack. You may have to buy the extra bits you don't need but you will have the R pins. Steve
mmgemini
Interesting Ralph. Those kits according to my dealer are NLA. They6 are now only supplied with the pads ?? Steve. I've already tried that without success. mike

ThreeSheds
Amazing coincidence - I was thinking of asking this very question myself today! But surely there is somewhere that I (we?) could buy R clips without the rest of the kit? Although I guess that once you buy a kit like that - if you maintain it well you will never need another. mmgemini
Funny thing Ralph. I use the pins from the fronts in the rears. Only one set of pins to keep as spare of...The Paddock shews split pins. I have plenty split pins...... Bishbosh. I'll try Stockton Modeler this week. Les Henson
There's a bit of a weak argument that R-clips can be pulled out by twigs/ramblers/etc , though I've not come across that myself. Some retaining pins are held in with lockover R-clips that are a lot harder to remove. Les.
Superpants
R-clips are common in engineering generally, so can normally be bought from an industrial fastener supplier in a whole range of sizes.
