My Silverline fixed size ones are excellent, really good to use, Ive got 180mm and 230mm sizes. My change-able ones, from a manufacturer whos name i cant remember, are pathetic. Bought my Silverline ones from a chap on ebay...no idea who though.

Make sure whatever you buy has solid parts, not anything

that you screw tips in or bolts holds ins up tight - they are ok on

small stuff but 100% hopeless on stuck and or Bigger circlips

As for the makes aviod the "rerryrerrygroodsircrips " Brands, go for ground

tips of a brand make you have heard of, buy once, buy well, never regret the little extra

I bought a cheapo set from ebay the other day - same as these ones:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BIG-CIRCLIP-PLIERS-9-HEAVY-DUTY-SIR-CLIP-CIR-NEW_W0QQitemZ400077626487QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Hand_Tools_Equipment?hash=item5d267c1c77

and they have been really good - can't fault them. I bought cheap as I am only likely to need them for the one job which I'm doing now - then won't need them for a few years, I've never needed any that big before anyway.

The quality seems really good, much better than my small interchangeable set.
