heatshrink boots - do they exist???

Having replaced winch motor I'm looking for an easy solution to heatshrinking the cable terminals on top of motor. I have tried standard heatshrink tubing a number of times with very little success. Clearly the problem is trying to use straight tube to cover an angled area (cable coming in straight then taking a 90deg turn onto the bolt terminal).

Obvious answer would seem like a "boot" shaped heatshrink product but cant find any - do they exist/where would you find them???

Any different and more interesting ideas more than welcomed.....

i have tried a few different types and do have some heatshrink with terminal past or epoxy glue on the inside, for 11kv terms etc, the only real problem is that they are a PITA to remove, if you interested i could send a small anmount for you to try? once shrumk down you could always try and pinch together the end using apair of pliers till it sets?

Alternatively crimp your lug ends on and heatshrink over all bar the actual hole and then cover with standard rubber boot with electrical grease? it will stop most of the carp getting in there?

just a thought?

You can get right angled boots-which still need heatshrinking. alot of them are designed for mil spec connectors, but can be used. what diameter is the cable?RS are better then farnell (CPC) cheaper, usually have it in stock and better range, but thats personal opinion.

I have found that with crimped ring terminals on 35mm^2 cable and glue lined heatshrink over the terminal for all but the connection area, then the rubber boots available on vehicle wiring products (code RS126) are a really good tight fit over both the cable and the terminal post that they really don't need to be shrunk for a good seal.
