But AFAIK the lugs under the flywheel housing need cutting off, the gearbox bellhousing will need some additional studs at the bottom. The original engine mounting brackets on the series chassis are not compatable with a 300Tdi. Use the search as it is quite frequently covered. Being one of the first ones to do 300Di conversion (not 300Tdi) in a series I can confirm that the 300 fly wheel housing will fit a series 3 transmission.
