Megasquirt - Throttle Position Sensor

Recommended Posts

Evening,

Just a quick question about my tps on my v8.

Looks like this pic :

ETC8495-THROTTLE-POTENTIOMETER.jpg

There are 3 wires - yellow, red & green.

On my MS loom for the TPS i have - TPS 5v ref and TPS sig. and i'll make an earth.

But could someone please tell me what the yellow, red and green wires are ?

From the MS diagrams on here, i'm assuming green is the earth.

Cheers

I see the colours on that diagram are red, green and yellow (same as the tps). My ms loom has a blue wire and a grey wire - which are labelled so i'll match them to how you describe above :)

Just another little question - what sort of current draw will the coils have ? Just deciding what size wire to run.

What thickness gasket should i use in the plug

Never measured it but I usually use a 10A fuse and 1mmsq (16A) cable for the coils. That's only from memory so don't quote me on it or post it on the internet or anything.

Um.

Drat.

That should be ok then :)

I should have phrased the above post differently  "i'm just deciding if the cable i've run for 12v to the coil is big enough" lol

cheers

Depends on what heads you use

on the left hand bank is a 4.6 with tin gasket and on the right hand bank i've chopped the end off a td5's head and using silicone gasket sealer

can you calculate my compression please :P

For gods sake thats completely wrong

You should have cut 1 3 5 7 and 2 4 6 8 and run a composite gasket on one piston

and the tin on the corresponding piston of the pair making up the 'V',also you should

have skimmed alternate parts of both heads to ensure that the thin gasket matches the

compression and CC volume of the composite one

Don't you know anything ?

Nige :)
