YZFR62000
hi can anyone tell me if freestyle alloys fit a defender 200tdi with rear drums do i need many mod`s/adjustments or spacers?????
350ypvs
I've just bought a 90 (1990) with rear drums and freestyle alloys. There were no spacers or mods that I could see.I've changed them anyway as I wanted my modulars with 265s on.
Ben_J85JTY
The PCD is the same so yes they will bolt on - however, the centre spigot is a different size so when you do bolt them on the alloy won't slip over the spigot, putting all the weight onto the bolts. Some have machined out the centre to allow the fitment, but then the half shafty cover protruds through the centre hole and you can't get the cover on. Badger90
i had boosts on my 200tdi before i changed the axles to 24spline. they will fit but the centre caps wont so before i got the new axles i had wheel spacers on. Jurriaan
Don't know if it's a Ninety or a One Ten, but I can remember something about the weight rating on Freestyle alloys not being sufficient for a 110.
Badger90
yeah i would think it will be the 110. isnt because they are class 7. or somthing
western
Freestyle or any RRC alloys shouldn't be used on any 110 as they are not rated for a 110's max weight, this goes for some of the Discovery alloys too. LR only approved the Boost or Deep Dish alloys for 110.
Adamloveshisninety
Sorry to dig this topic up from the grave, but did a search and this is what came up. I have seen a cheap set of freestyle wheels i'd like to use for road and was also curious if they would fit my 1988 Ninety. Would i have to use hubcentric spacers to work with my older style hubs? Thanks.
western
the LR freestlyes won't fit rear drum braked 90 or 110 axles, the wheel/brake drum fouls each other, the other similstr look wheels are called Firestlye used to be supplied by Nene overland IIRC. Phillis
do they fit ok on the front axles of older 90s? or is it both that they dont fit?
western
the freestlyes will fit if you mod the existing drive members as in this link http://www.web-rover.co.uk/nav.php?p=articles/alloys

western
other option is to swap stub axle & hubs to 300Tdi version & with rear disc braked axle, problem is solved, freestyle fits easily.
