nickwilliams
Having now got the door lock (see this thread) the diagram is starting to make a bit more sense, but I now need to know what the part number is for a replacement lock barrel for this lock, since the information from DaveW indicates that the standard MTC6504 set is not right for use with FUB500050 and the diagram linked above does not show the lock barrel. TIA Nick.
western
lock barrels here for Defender 2007 onwards http://www.numcat.ru/landrover/p/30/44808/ can't see why there is any change in barrel style from the older locks/doors.
Dave W
The barrel is longer on the later locks as they have double the number of tumblers so are more secure, more combinations and so on. There is a picture of the two side by side in a thread I created a while ago when I was trying to figure out why my barrel wouldn't fit the rear door.... http://forums.lr4x4.com/index.php?showtopic=53571&st=0&p=478244
Retroanaconda
They use the same type of key as the ignition key and later front doors, I believe, in a move by Land Rover in 2002 to reduce the number of keys required to two. One for ignition and doors, and one for fuel cap
