stuck
Gent's, Since fitting the 4.6 it's getting much hotter under the bonnet than it did with the Td5, long term this can't be good for hoses, wiring etc. I notice a lot of V8 Defenders have holes drilled in the "sides" of the bonnet, does this aid cooling or is it purely aesthetic? Thanks, Mick.
JeffR
Try insulating the manifolds, it makes a huge difference, dropped under bonnet temps by about 80 degress C on my V8. It is however a grossly unpleasant task...
miketomcat
Only insulate cast manifolds as welded tubular manifolds can crack at the welds when insulated I've had two maniflow mini manifolds fail due to insulating. Mike
GL88
A friend had this problem some years ago with a very heavily breathed on V8 110 (basically raised to TVR spec). One of the things he did was have the bonnet louvred - this looked a much less bodged than the hole-saw approach.

jad
I remember paint on ceramic coatings being available for exhausts, I have no experience of them but my might be worth researching?
q-rover
Not quite paint on, but something like this.
