disco_al Posted September 9, 2011 Share Posted September 9, 2011 After some discussions with a gent in the local, I have found a Series 3 Lightweight for not much money, and my brother is potentially going to buy it as a project for him and my nephew...... First impressions after digging through the hedge to get to it, are that it is complete, original and in very good condition. It was driven to it's current spot 3/4 years ago. According to the DVLA it was registered in 1994. The o/s outrigger looks a bit crusty, as does the rear crossmember and the top of the bulkhead, although the chassis looks to be in very good condition, and is covered with lots of layers of green military paint. As can be seen, it even has the original 2.25 petrol engine still fitted, and i am assured that it does still run. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

disco_al Posted September 9, 2011 Author Share Posted September 9, 2011 nope, according to the DVLA system we use at work, 01/09/94 was the registration date - in other words, the date it left service with the military. the P plate would be age related to when built. You should have asked - I was in your neck of the woods yesterday with a machete and various "pruning" equipment in the boot of the 110.
