stuck
Gent's, When fitting a new set of plugs are they good to go straight out of the box or does the gap need setting to get the best out of them for a 4.6? If they need setting what should the gap be? Cheers, Mick.

bobtail84
Just to add that it has been suggested that... 0.030 to 0.060 inch gap (0.75 mm to 1.5 mm) I go for 1.0 mm myself. Borrowed from the MegaManual.
FridgeFreezer
What Geoff said, I find with EDIS it's really not fussy...
mickeyw
I find out of the box they tend to be 0.8mm, which is what I run at with petrol and LPG
AncientGeek
??? 0.6mm sounds like dizzy-with-points-and-condensor type plug gap to me. 25 thou? Is this a fuel-only megasquirt? The reference in megamanual to "0.75-1.5 mm" refers to the VR-sensor to triggerwheel gap, not the spark plug gap. The norm with coilpacks seems to be 1 to 1.1 mm. Spot on been running 40 thou plug gaps for the last 18 months with EDIS 8 as per Ford do........ approx
