Russell_ds80
Hi all. Im looking at getting some 6 mm sheet metal to make the mountings for my rollcage. So as above how much of it will i need? Ive got all 6 mounts to do on my truckcab 90. Cheers Russell
landy V8
Hi Russell my cage is from "North Off Road" so i assume to MSA spec and they are 6" x 6" with 4 x M10 bolts on each plate. so you will end up with a piece 72" x 6". Tom1809
I think when i last looked in the msa blue book that each foot must be a minimum of 3.3mm thick and of 120cm2 so times that by 6 and you will be able to get how much you need
Russell_ds80
cheers for the help. However i was more looking for how much i will need to mount down to the chassis aswell. cheers Russell
FridgeFreezer
You need a tape measure and some CAD - Cardboard Aided Design
landy V8
those are the specs for the mounting plates so all you'll need to do is measure from the underside of your truck down to the chassis.50x50mm box.
Dave W
If you want to use 6mm the best thing to do is buy a length of 6mm x 100mm bar. Much easier to manage and cut usable lengths that way.
Bowie69
I tend to buy the 6mm x 150mm which means you get nice 6" squares out of it
