p76rangie Posted November 26, 2011 Share Posted November 26, 2011 You have carp in your governor. Sometimes changing your oil and filter will help clear it up after a few drives. mudmagnet Posted November 27, 2011 Author Share Posted November 27, 2011 found out what it was it was a stuck kickdown cable, i have disconnected the cable from the engine bay end and pushed it back through and all works fine now except no kickdown, which isnt really going to be missed on a 300 tdi glad it was an easy fix as im marshaling today cheers Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Bowie69 Posted November 27, 2011 Share Posted November 27, 2011 Agreed, running without the kickdown reduces the pressure inside the box allowing the clutches to slip and burn our, replace ASAP or you will be after a new box very soon. A rung around and found a local landrover garage that came and picked the car up and fitted a new kickdown cable all in a day, might have been pricy at £300 + Vat.
