ricky tango
I need to pick up a part stripped rrc and all my usual trailer friends are using them this weekend I've been offered the use of a transit beaver tail which he's had a disco on the back before , but Is it legal or is it over the limits of the transit ? Retroanaconda
Well the answer of course is "not unless the weight of the part-stripped RRC is greater than the payload weight of the Transit"! If you're unsure then don't do it. Or hire a trailer from a hire company.
Bowie69
Depends very much on the model of transit, alloy or steel tail etc..... Get it weighed and see, but I suspect it will be over.
muddy
IIRC transit aluminum beavertail payload is about 1100kg
Bowie69
A mate has one, with steel, and it it's rated to approx 1500Kg.... IIRC
muddy
Had a look around.and.1500kg looks more accurate
ricky tango
Anyone know the weight of a rrc. I'm on the road on iPhone stopping to check this lol
stuck
I don't know for sure but I don't think it would weigh in at less than my 110 which is 2 Tonnes.
simonr
About 2.2 Ton IIRC. It obviously depends on the model and spec but it's the figure I've always used to work out if a trailer is up to it! Si
Bowie69
1960KG, dry, from handbook, IIRC, that's a late Vogue SE (1992) But I would allow for 2.2t as above.
