Part Names - different for same thing?

Recommended Posts

Been checking over my 1986 LR90 for squeaking and clunking noises and found the rear UJ needs replacing. Whilst inspecting that was also told about a Sacrificial Drive Flange on the wheels - checked the front and you can see some play when rotating the prop (axle is jacked up).

Question?

Is this the same as the Driving Member or Drive Flange?

Been checking through Microcat and cant find any reference to Sacrificial flange.

Yes it's sacrificial. Although I suppose some people would think it's easier to remove the broken bits from inside a Salisbury diff then change the drive flange ! ! ! !

If you take the oil seal from inside the axle that Land Rover had fitted to the Salisbury. Then the diff oil will also lubricate the splines.
