Part1cle
Having plated about with various brake flaring tools with varying degrees of success I just bought a Sykes Pickavant Flaremaster 2 full kit for £125.00 delivered which I thought was a pretty good buy. Opened the box and there was the Hydraulic part of the tool for flaring steel pipes included. May not use it but what a nice surprise! All genuine SP parts in original SP sealed and barcoded bags. I'm happy!
simonr
That's what I have too! It's been very good! I've had it for 2-3 years (after another thread on here) and have been nothing but impressed! Si
Bowie69
For others, you can find them on Ebay, new, for a little less (sorry) http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Sykes-Pickavant-02725000-Flaremaster-2-Brake-Flaring-Tool-/221024741610#vi-content Always been tempted, but managed quite well with the cheapie Sealey or equivalent 'bar' type, even on the vehicle and on steel pipes on occasion. yalan
Having broken a part on my old flaremaster 1, I bought the sp bench mounted tool. And while it is very good I still think the flare master is a more versatile tool. The flaremaster2 has eliminated all the weaknesses of the first model and is a brilliant tool. Part1cle
For others, you can find them on Ebay, new, for a little less (sorry)http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Sykes-Pickavant-02725000-Flaremaster-2-Brake-Flaring-Tool-/221024741610#vi-content Always been tempted, but managed quite well with the cheapie Sealey or equivalent 'bar' type, even on the vehicle and on steel pipes on occasion. Yep, saw that but it doesn't have the pipe cutter, deburring tool and pipe bending pliers as this one which is similar: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Flaremaster2-Brake-Pipe-Flaring-Kit-SYKES-PICKAVANT-02729500-FREE-RAM-WORTH-66-/121067044685?pt=UK_Hand_Tools_Equipment&hash=item1c30287f4d My reasoning to buy the full kit was convenience as much as anything, keep it all in one place! I may never use the extra hydraulic part for steel, stainless I guess?, but as it was not listed and effectively came for free it can't be bad seeing as the above kit is £170! I should have originally added that I received the standard hydraulic part as well.... Bowie69
Good find then, aways best to spend it on a proper bit of kit than have to replace it every year or two
