csimoes
hi RV8 has batch injection, wouldn't it be much more fuel eficient with sequential injection? is it a stupid idea? has anyone tried something with the help of MS? probably not MS1 but isn't it possible with MS3? Bowie69
It's been discussed before, for a 1950s design engine it really just isn't worth it.
Ally V8
I guess LR thought it was worth it,both the 95-99my Gems and 99-02my Bosch injected P38's had sequential injection.
csimoes
and what's the MPG of those latter engines?
Quagmire
Sequential only really helps study up emissions at idle at low rpms. At higher rpms most factory systems stop sequential injecting as everything is simply moving too quick...
Quagmire
Damn phone. Study up= tidy up
FridgeFreezer
Sequential only really helps emissions at idle at low rpms. At higher rpms most factory systems stop sequential injecting as everything is simply moving too quick... This is the answer - the question is asked often by folks new to MS but the truth is it gains you very little for a lot of extra complexity. Mr Noisy
Tbh I thought that the speed of things at higher rpms would mean it's almost a constant flow of fuel anyway! You can really see how direct injection must help economy/tuning/performance though, so much more accurate fuelling...
Bowie69
Not just accuracy, but much better atomisation in the cylinder = faster burn = more efficient engine. And you're right, with a duty cycle at WOT of 70+% it is virtually a hose pipe
