jad
was it a lucas rotor arm? even new ones from other makes can be poop and cause terrible running/starting. Jad
mad_pete
Many rotor arms are sold pre-broken to save you time as the owner having to wear them out driving your car.
missingsid
Is there any lacquer on the brass? Even when in use fo a while I had to chip a lacquer type material off the contacts! Marc
mad_pete
I would buy another rotor arm and try that. After a while I got in the habit of buying 2 at once and must expensive I could find as seemed to be easy to get a dud.
robertspark
rotor arms are a bit of consumable item on a rover v8 (hence why EDIS is the chosen modification with what would appear to be very high reliability). there is nothing that defines a good of or a bad one at first purchase, I always kept a tested and working spare in the battery box sealed in a sandwich bag as I was once stranded in the middle of nowhere, and replaced that when the working one failed and I needed a spare.
