xychix
I've replaced the hub seal as oil was seeping into the drum brakes (front left), now on the same side the swivel seal is leaking Car was parked for a mont and a big stain next to the tyre, as I'm not in the position to redo this for now, I'm lookin for a quick fix. I'm in the last phase of healing of a broken shoulder blade (Amsterdam, bike crash), driving without PAS is already a challenge, let alone ripping the car apart. Would it help to add some ATF oil to the 80w90 in the swivel to soften up the seal a bit? Would it do extra damage trying this? thanks
HoggyN
How about using swivel housing grease instead of oil? And/or you could try replacing the seal using the split method.
SPendrey
I'd consider using one-shot. It is thicker, and may not run so readily. Long term though, sounds like the seal needs replacing.
landroversforever
One-shot swivel grease could possibly solve your issue in the long run. But remember if its leaking out, mud and water can therefore get in. So it probably needs the seal and/or the swivel ball changing if its pitted. discomikey
+1 for one shot grease rather than ep80w90 Edit: and if that's your only leak you are doing well! Or, its all empty?
Les Henson
ATF does nothing - you might be thinking of brake fluid, as in PAS leaks? You could use one shot, but then you still have to remove/allow to leak out, the EP80/90 Les

Or, its all empty? haha gearbox, reductionbox, and engine just mark their spot a bit. Front axle seems to have a drip hanging but won't call that a leak, rear axle is bone dry... hmm worrying compared to the rest, will check that out.
