sean f
A lady I used to work with was married to a farmer. She was washing up one day and a 4x4 pulled into the yard and the driver gave her a wave. She figured it was a farmer friend going to see her husband in the yard. They pulled out with a trailer shortly after and gave her another wave. She waved back figuring her husband had leant them the trailer. He then came home and she informed him his friend had come for the trailer. He knew nothing about it. It never came back. :/ A lot of years ago a friend delivered a D9 on a low loader to the M4 construction (that tells you now long ago!), this is very big wide load with a police escort. He left it at the site office, by the time he got back to the yard there was a message asking where it was, some one had stolen it!. Apparently it was not recovered, how they shifted a load that must have been over 90 tonnes and about 12ft wide if not more is a mystery, certainly had a lot of nerve. Gazzar
Can you get spray on rust? I've seen some cars with what has to be deliberate rusty panels, if you covered the 'box with this rusty paint over a vinal wrap then it would look awful, but could be removed if you were selling it. simonr
I drew this up a while back. The idea is that you wheel the trailer along side so the post is touching the side of the A frame. Place the cover over the top, surrounding the A frame bar and padlock the two together. The lock is fairly well shielded and it will take a fair bit of cutting to remove. BogMonster
Can you get spray on rust? Of course you can. Land Rover have been painting Defenders with it for years...
dave1607
Some really good ideas. I like the idea of the security post but one that is perminantly fixed is going to one more thing for her to drive into, so would probably have to be either a chain or a removable / retractable post. Will definately look at some sort of distinguishing marks aswell. Dave
