sheathy
The mrs has just been offered a job in France and we may well be facing a move to the continent in the near future. I was wondering if anyone had had any experience with importing their vehicle and registering it in France? It looks like it might be a serious mountain of paperwork to deal with not to mention very costly.

Arjan
Seriously, immatriculating a foreign vehicle in standard form in France is not more complicated than in the UK at the moment. If the UK is no longer part of the EU thing could change - but at the moment is it not that complicated. IF the LR has been modified, esp. the fuel type, you are going to have a serious challenge. PM me for details if you want through this forum or via the site mentioned below. Bon Courage.
Sheffield
I have registered two Discoverys in France, and am about to register a Freelander. I had no problems and found the French easier to deal with than DVLA.
HoSS
As Arjan said. If its standard easy, you will have to get hold of the Certificate of Confomity from the manufacturer. Then you just go to your local sou-prefecture to register. It usually costs about 300 Eur for the registration doc. Get plates made at a supermarket/shop. If modified, its more complicated. If its had a Petrol/Diesel engine change, forget it.
Arjan
Certificate of Confomity from the JLR France was required for the last 18 Land Rovers we did. But if the poster wants more info he'll let us know.

The Badger
Only done it in Sweden, the hard bit was the engine type as it is a 2.8 TGV, they did not have such a engine in the system, but it's Swedish now.
Arjan
France is eh.... France. They want a French CoC that complies with the French parameters. I have been able to get a few modified vehicles on French plates but it is not easy. A "bog standard" Ex MOD 110 should be possible. Should.
