  1. I got a set!! Never got any loctite though
  2. Am I right thinking that the difference between a 3.9 block and a 4 litre block are cross bolting of the block itself? And the difference between a 4 and a 4.6 is the crank, and therefore the stroke length? So...... Couldnt you, Cross bolt your block, and therefore get the appropriate internal machining done, to allow clearence for a 4.6 crank?? Then, you would have a 4.6 in the original 3.9 block. (im only speculating btw, i dont think I 'actually' know what im talking about!! ) You could even... Beg/borrow/steal/BUY(hint hint) a 3.5 off a friend, and get it machined out to 4 litre, with new liners and cross bolted, and then fit a new crank... However, none of its cheap...
  3. Speak to porny on this forum or email him through his company IRB developments, he had a intercooler custom made for my dads 110 td5 auto conversion, was fairly reasonably priced, and after a bit of porny magic my dads car flies!
  4. okie dokes wil try that! Wasnt sure if it could have been that the shock bushes were overtightened as to not allow any movement! And cheers sutty! Will go get the scalpol, see if it makes a difference
  5. Hi all, My 90 has a set of +2inch scorpion racing springs fitted(Bright orange!! ) and the ride is incredibly hard! Was wondering if that is normal for a set of those springs? Or could it be the shock bushes are to tight and need slacking off a little bit? Thanks in advance!
  6. What year is your landy? Could you get a chassis with a rotten rear end(of the same age), and cut off the chassis sections you need, and re stamp your chassis number onto the section? And obviously take alot of photos so that you can justify the work? also, googled land rover chassis repair sections and found this old lr4x4 thread: Chassis repair sections Hope that helps

  10. If it was full range rover sized with 5 actual doors and a proper split tailgate, I would want it! But otherwise.... I think they took a full sized Land/Range Rover, and parked it on top to squidge it!

  16. Hi all, Got a D44 ground anchor mount for the front of the truck, it has one pin with a clip on it, however no other means of securing a ground anchor, was wondering if any one has a photo of there ground anchor fitted to a Devon anchor holder? Close up? Thanks in advance Grant
  17. Used the Dyneema fairlead at the LRS Challenge at Harbury lane. Lots of high angle pulls and a few pulls up over the wing tops through the cage. The fairlead didn't like this at all! I have no doubt it saved the rope. The mud and grit in the rope did act as an abrasive and ground away at the fairlead as Tris had read about. However I can't help but think that it would have been the rope that would have been damaged by the mud and grit rather than the fairlead if it was either an Alli or Stainless one. I think they are a great idea and I would definitely use one every time if the price of them came down to more of consumable level of say £10-£15 then a new one for each event is worth it if it extends the life of the rope for a few more events. Will post some pics of the damage when I take it off this weekend.
  18. what would they be worth then? As i cant find a price anywhere for the axles! Thanks everyone again btw, has been helpful!

  22. Hi all, Mate of mines just swapped his input gear on his transfer box for one from ashcrofts ( cross drilled ) He basically: removed PTO cover, Removed old gear Fitted new input gear Replaced cover. He left the original races, as they were in perfect condition. its noticeably hot at the top of the transfer box! Has he missed anything? Thanks in advance
  23. Hi all, Been offered a pair of G wagon axles for a reeally goood price! including all the gubbins for the locker system. Question is.... What needs to be done to them to make it fit and work on a 90? who's done it before with the know how? Is it worth the hassle? and any advantages or disadvantages? Thanks anyone in advance!
