  1. not that i know ANYTHING about wolfs, but... hasnt it got the wrong doors?? does look smart though!
  2. Just used a can of halfrauds satin black, and some really fine wet and dry, came up looking like new!
  3. hi all, Have a defender td5,seeming to have cluch problems. Was driving along the other day and then randomly the clutch pedal just fell to the floor with only about 10mm of effective travel(just enough to use 2nd, 4thand 5th! When re-bled its ok, for about 50 miles then it goes back again, Checked the slave cylinder, however couldnt see anything apparent,(not sure how stiff its meant to be???) Any one got any other ideas? the td5's done 137,000 miles, however it was a rather spontaneous failidge, so not quite sure what to look for! Thanks in advance Grant
  4. Hi all, Just pulled apart my 8274 to change the oil, and qive it a quick once over, what oil should I put back in? Had EP90 in it before, but was told to use ATF dextron 3 instead? Whats the concensus? Thanks in advance
  5. Turns out my problem was the transfer box, something inside it binding and being lumpy... All sorted on the shakes now though
  6. Bingo! Exactly that! Might have a new one at home, so gonna swap it all out. Cheers
  7. Hi all, Was just driving along, when suddenly dip beam has packed up, high beam and everything else works, just dip beam, checked fuses(thought it was unlikely both had gone) and swapped relays around, cant find anything, got the stalk surrounds off, and still nowt that I can see, anybody got any clues? Its a 2001 TD5 defender 110 Thanks in advance! Grant
  8. Some but not all, will try and get a grown up to help me out and check it all properly
  9. Hi all, Have got the shakes, not sure why. Thought it could have been the wheel balancing, got them rebalanced, taken the front prop off and went for a drive still there, did A UJ in the rear prop with some play, still there. Panhard rod looks ok, steering joints are fine, no play in the balls there Also has a slight resistive grinding to it sometimes... hence the worry! The landy is a 2001 TD5 defender 110 with 2 and a bit inch lift, running standard prop on the back and a wide angle bailey morris on the front, could the shake just be the front prop with that lift at speed? And the slight grind, the yokes? Thanks in advance Grant
  10. Sorry to hear it, will keep a look out where ever I go
  11. All sorted now, turns out it was injector seals!! Runs a beaut now!! ( Good old Ian and IRB!! )
  12. Checked all the injectors codes with the diagnostic programs and the nanocom, and we got nothing. hoping it is the injector seals now though.....
  13. k, spoken to my friend, got a mate coming on sunday to help me do injector seals, really hoping its that, or a gallon of petrol and a lighter...
  14. And cheers k88MUD, will have another check tomorrow, it is sounding more and more so like your right, hoping it will be the seals on the injectors. Cheers for the help so far guys!!
  15. ah kk fair enough, so if thats the case, what stops the power going to the ECU? Because I bypassed the relay for the fuel pump, so the pump stayed running constantly, and the engine still dies, the engine starts to miss on the first two injectors and then dies though...
  16. Also Si, if theres no stop solenoid, how does a td5 cut out? ( probably should have asked porny yesterday when I saw him! )
  17. Had a pressure gauge on it, was reading approximately 3.5bar (so sub 4 bar, however the gauge wasn't calibrated precisely) however the needle was fluctuating a fair bit. thought about the crank position sensor, and as you said that is the only one that will stop a TD5 running, however, it is that consistent, so I dismissed it, however, its most likely worth a look. The pump does go noisy, as if it is purging before it cuts out, however, the oil level isn't changing ( as i was told this would happen if the seals had gone),no smell of diesel either, there is no other apparent head cracking symptoms. unless im missing something? ( fingers crossed.... )
  18. Yep, checked for oil in ECU, tried a different ECU ( paired all the immobilisation and security settings across before anyone wonders) There was oil in the plug, a fair amount, however, the problem is too consistent, today we tried bypassing the inertia cut out switch, the EGR valve incase it was that, and bypassed and shorted the fuel relay across to keep the pump going, and the engine still cuts out. Only other thing I can thing about is the stop solenoid, however without a manual, we dont know which relay or fuse to pull! SO now really scratching heads, with copious amounts of swearing!
  19. Hi all, Have a TD5 discovery (51 plate) that is a pig to start and if Im lucky, will drive maybe a mile or 2 before cutting out and not starting again ( until a whole battery of cranking has taken place.....) So far, I have changed the Fuel filter (twice) The fuel sender unit, the fuel fitler housing and the fuel regulator. Weve plugged it into Diagnostic, and we got no error codes or random values on screen. Theres no apparent leaks on the fuel lines anywhere I can see. From looking at the oil, there is no diesel contamination, so dont think it is injector seals Completely ran out of things it could be now! Any one else got any ideas? Thanks Grant
  20. From what a friend did in the past, he had a massive shed ( double car garage size ), however to put it into his back garden without planning permission, he fitted wheels onto the corners, so it was a 'temporary' structure, and simply buried the wheels ( until it needed moving of course ! )
  21. A friends got a prop for a disco which has been modified to fit a salisbury, he also might have a spare salisbury axle, will get back to you if he wants to sell it all
  22. Hi all, Have an lt77 from a disco in my project (cut the seatbox to fit around it) Have been offered a good v8, and I want to fit it, however not sure if my 200 tdi lt77 is the same as a v8 lt77. any one know if the input shafts are different? Or are they the same Thanks in advance
  23. hey, been keeping an eye on this. finished painting my sankey at the weekend, the photo isnt great, but you get the idea. its not an overland sankey yet, but having a black chequer plated roof that folds in 2 places and roof/bike racks. once done, will put more photos up of the tail gate, lid, wheels/spacers etc. should be in 2 weeks time i hope. (just need to fix the car then :S )
  24. Would speak to Ian(porny) at IRB developments (www.irbdevelopments.com) he will definately sort it out, I am one very truly happy customer, and I garantee you will be amazed at what he can make a td5 do! Especially with a vn turbo and big intercooler( alisport ones small compared to the ones he fits!)
  25. Will keep an eye out wherever I look, Sorry to hear about it , had mine stolen just over a year ago) from there aswell (Newbury showground), Good Luck Langers, Keep us posted
