Still not arrived but when ordering the lady on the phone did say they mite take 2-3 wks to arrive, my front conversion took 2 wks to arrive which I was hoping the rear's would be the same
Both really I'm trying to work out how much of a gap I have between the roof supports of my garage and the landy with the lowest roof rack I can fit and the lowest roof tent I can fit, it's just that i have the landy on blocks atm awaiting my rear disc brake conversion to arrive, oh and my garage doors are higher than the garage roof supports
Yeah that's what I was comparing my shocks with, I've got a feeling that not all britpart shocks are the same as regards for the same vehicle meaning there are slight differences in length and probably wouldn't make much difference if using std springs but if using parabolic's with std shocks it can
Hi guys
Is there anyone on here with a hard shell rooftop tent fitted inc a roof rack that can tell me what the lowest spec i could go for please.
Its going to be fitted to an S2a swb so similar roof to an early ribbed roof defender and i am only asking on here as you don't see many fitted to a series but roof racks tend to be made to fit series and defender's 🙂
I have recently fitted a front disc brake conversion to my 1970 S2a and as the discs are not measured but must be at least 1/2 thick where the disc fits to the hub flange and there is a noticable difference in having a better lock 😃
Still waiting for my Zeus rear disc brake conversion to arrive as i already have the old rear brake assy's removed ready to fit the new brakes so once they are done i will let you know 🙂
I am running a 2a fitted with a 200tdi with std gearbox and tranny box but with disco diffs and 235 tyres and it does pull quite well in second and will just about reach 70 mph so i now need an o/d so i don't see why it shouldn't fitted with a 2.25p engine but it mite take longer to get to 70 mph, hope this helps 🙂
As i was bored and on my day off i decided to strip the rear brakes down to the axle flanges ready for when the new kit arrives, will post pic's later 😀
Right i've just got my landy in the garage to make a start stripping the rear brakes off to fit the new disc brake conversion when it arrives end of this week and whilst i was draining the rear diff of oil i decided to measure the rear shocks with just the weight of the landy on them, inside the rear is the spare, a small trolley jack a small box of tools and a spare can of engine oil and water and both rear shocks measure 19" now i googled it and the rear std shocks are 20" long so looks like i only have 1" of travel 🤔
